Important: please keep your image under 700 pixels on the longest side for in-line viewing, and please keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc).

Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. Starting this week, we're testing out the idea of allowing members to post up to three images per week - let's see how it goes!

A good Nikon Wednesday to everyone, and welcome to our new experiment. As one of our Nikon forum moderators, Shun, mentioned in this recent thread, we're going to encourage those who'd like to to post up to three images as part of this weekly ritual. The possibilities are nearly limitless - a sequence that tells a story, some behind the scenes shots that provide context, or perhaps the same scene lit in three very different ways. We'll all figure out how to use multiple images in the most constructive ways.

For me, I'll reach back to this past Saturday, when I Uncle Bobbed my way through some moments before, during, and after a family wedding. I left the pro stuff to a terrific local wedding photographer (she and her partner do great work), but paid attention to recording bits of the decor and some candid stuff where I thought I could add to what the bride would later want to see. Here are three images from my wanderings at the venue. Let's see some good photos, just like we see every week - only, perhaps a few more this time!

00an6U-494965584.jpg.0cd4cc02e83e20f1a5f071822efe0511.jpg

I've been working on more abstract fireworks shots. These lend themselves to triptychs...

<a title="20120824-9486 by Mark Sirota, on Flickr" href=" 20120824-9486 src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8421/7861792836_07d6453237_z.jpg" alt="20120824-9486" width="640" height="426" />

<a title="20120824-9514 by Mark Sirota, on Flickr" href=" 20120824-9514 src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8286/7861804834_2b65527592_z.jpg" alt="20120824-9514" width="640" height="426" />

<a title="20120824-9490 by Mark Sirota, on Flickr" href=" 20120824-9490 src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7131/7861798728_9940029039_z.jpg" alt="20120824-9490" width="640" height="426" />

Click through to see them bigger on Flickr.

As Matt mentions, starting from this week, we'll experiment letting each member post up to three images per Wednesday image thread. So I am posting two images from my recent trip to the Olympic National Park in Washington State.

I've hardly had time to play with new camera toys this week. It's harvest season and the garden takes top priority for a while. Had to wait over four months for my D800e to arrive so took a break from fig picking to make sure the camera works OK. This is the first shot.

00an6n-494979584.jpg.acfe97f4558fc2e628ecb78d5aade9b0.jpg

I had my old Nikon F Photomic out of storage and shot a couple of rolls up at Watkins Woolen textile mill out in rural Missouri.
Mabel was working the visitor center. We stuck up a conversation and I was telling her jokes that made her crack up.

Here are two pictures of floral life, one taken at 16mm and one at 300mm; same yard, same camera, several months apart. The 16mm was taken during unpredictable gusts of wind so I upped the ISO to get a deep f/22 shot at 1/800th of a second. The 300mm was shot near end of day at lens' widest aperture.

00an7L-494995684.jpg.155d1bc075639aaf2efb125e3ff9aa3e.jpg
