<p>Sandy was felt up here. Travel still poses some challenges. Our preparations reduced the power outage to an inconvenience. We were also lucky. Folks in many places are facing great difficulty and we wish them the best in times to come. <p>Results from strong northerly winds from Hurricane Sandy running down Lake Michigan and into Chicago. This was at the Ohio Street Beach near Navy Pier. The winds were gusting to about 50mph when I was there.<br>

<p>The first Civil War encampment/meeting at Ft. Massac. Old French and American Fort used during the Civil War as a training camp for the Union.</p><div></div>

<p>This was taken earlier this fall in Paris, where I spent most of the time exploring the city's beautiful gardens, large and small. I loved all the contrasts between the young woman and the older women.<br>
