steve_rasmussen
Has anyone with this camera ever had issues with film coming back with horizontal lines across the film? Mine does this but not on all frames. Not sure if it is the shutter or the film gate.
Robin Smith
Is it the processing? I did not have trouble with the SL, but I've never had an SL2.
Robin Smith
SCL
Never had a problem like this with my SL2. Sounds like perhaps a visit to Sherry or DAG might be in order.
Gus Lazzari
First gently clean the film cassette chamber, film rails and pressure plate.
Next check the back pressure of the rewind shaft, if it provides anything more than a fluid and easy action, the rewind shaft requires lubrication. (a drop of oil)

The lube on the shaft may be in failure which will provide too much back pressure to the film as the take-up spool and sprocket are pulling strongly on it...
stephen_york3
Sacrifice a roll of film. Run it through the camera and look at the negs to see if they're scratched. If not, it's the processing.
Clean the camera. Something like a piece of sand can get in there and cause problems.
steve_rasmussen
Thanks guys; I will try those ideas expressed above. So far it appears to be the camera, not the processing.
