Nikon Wednesday Pic 2010: #28

<p>The cousins were in town last week, which means lots of laughter and lots of pictures. This picture was one of my favorites. </p><div></div>

<p>This shot is actually of my daughter's swimming pool, but after I finished with the post processing it kind of hit me emotionally and what came to my mind was the oil spill.</p><div></div>

<p>After a long, hot afternoon rafting through the Royal Gorge canyon in Colorado, a guide reverses his raft after the final rapids and gives his four passengers a well-deserved and very refreshing dip (all remained in the raft!).</p><div></div>

<p>Some scenes for the new Transformer 3 movie were being filmed here in Milwaukee Monday and yesterday. I tried to find a way through the tight security and take some photos but was thwarted at every feeble attempt. The guy walking away from the chopper with the woman in white is Patrick Dempsey. </p><div></div>

<p>Great photos, hard to pick a fave this week.<br /> My pic this week, is from several months ago, with the recent temps in DC hovering around 95-100 degrees, what better pic to cool down? We had the snowiest winter in over a 100 years here in DC, so my photo is of the National Cathedral, daybreak after a night of heavy snows.</p><div></div>

<p>Lots of great shots this week. I'm a little late to the party, but I didn't have anything in my galley that I felt like sharing and I wanted to post something new. I went for a short walk downtown and managed to not melt completely (almost 100 degrees today).</p>

<p>This is the Sterick Building. It is the 5th tallest building in all of Memphis (29 stories) and has been abandoned since the 80's. These kind of subjects leave me yearning for an ultrawide lens or a full frame DSLR. There's just not enough room to get all of this building in one shot with my 24mm. I tried to do a pano today, but it came out looking very distorted. I'm not sure why the sky is so blue in this shot, I wasn't using a CP and I didn't do anything to it in post. I guess it's because I was shooting almost straight up.</p>
