Morning all!
Playing with high speed sync over the weekend. God, I love this camera, no need for pocket wizards (just yet) or an Su-800! My son was playing video games so I had an ideal subject. He barely moved an inch, I basically built the set around him. I see some really great shots this week.
some of my favorites so far:
Marc McCoy - I love the exposure. What was your shutter speed?
Melissa Papaj - What a great memorable moment, I'll bet they loved it.
Anish Mankuthel - Your work is always so impressive. this was a great exposure!
Bogdan Nicolescu - I love this old man of the sea.
Bal Soora - I love the light and shadow, great shot!
Paul Howard - Wow! That's sharp!

00WrUs-259985684.thumb.jpg.82af7c656d3febbbc8758fb2fb1583bf.jpg

Happy Wednesday! What a nice collection! And Mrs Buglady, your pictures give me a good laugh every week! I'll get back to commenting the others later...

Seeking shelter from the midday heat in Cairo (and at the same time trying to cool my camera down to 'normal and civilized' temperatures - at almost 50°C, this wasn't funny. I'm impressed though, that throughout a couple of days, I never once had a problem with either electronics in general or the sensor.

Adrian Oostermeijer, great mother and child shot.
Kevin Delson, you can just feel the heat - and relief - in that shot.
Mine's just a simple shot off the backporch, loved the colours that night.

00WrW9-260003584.jpg.b7c90eb84586be72ce25a5cad58d5820.jpg

What beautiful photos so far.
I do not have a photo today and I hope that it is OK to pass this info along as think that it mainly pertains to this forum (Nikon Wednesday Pic) but of course can be used anytime.
So Shun, if this isn't OK, please remove.
I've been using a product on my MAC but I do believe it is the same with a PC and it is called "CoolIris". This program provides a really neat way to view the photos here. After installing the program it becomes available for your use everywhere.
On photo.net the way I like to use it is after going through the photos I like to go back again and again to look at them. In cooliris they are all placed on a scrolling wall that you control from left to right and back again as well as the size of the photo, stopping to view in detail any photo you want to. It does give the info that was provided with the photo but does not give the story one gives.
Also some times when in a big hurry it makes it easy to go through just the photos as they are all together and one does not have to scroll through page after page to see them all.
Other than liking this product I am just a user of this and like it enough to want to pass this info along.
Give it a try and I'll bet you will like it also.
And, yes it is a free program.
phil b
benton, ky

This tiny little mushroom on a piece of bark is only about 3mm tall. Taken with a D40, novoflex bellows and 50mm lens, and twin macro flashes in the studio. f/16 @ISO 400.

Some great shots today (per usual). A few that caught my eye:

jf zhang - very peaceful scene, lovely light.

Melissa Papaj - creative, playful composition.

Jonas Fjellstedy - love the minimalism and the light.

Narayan Kovvali - nice perspective.

Jeannean Buglady - great capture.

Kevin Delson - cool (pun intended) capture. :-)

I've been having fun photographing my son, and am actually enjoying the challenge of finding different ways to capture him, especially given that his range of activities is fairly limited. As all babies, he basically just sleeps and eats, and since my wife won't allow me to post any shots of him nursing, I'm left with the sleeping photos. :-)

00WrZk-260043684.jpg.043c3a2d6c72401e7c242b6ad144e9e3.jpg

Hi all,
Summer rainstorms here in Holland, bringing cool after some pretty serious heat (which I love btw!).
Back at work from holiday in beautiful Italy. Saw the sunflowers in the field opening up each day more and more...

00WraE-260053584.jpg.e4616893e96e9bbab3df4520d8dc0f52.jpg
