garypeck
How much have you spent on equipment?
How much time have you invested?
What do you expect to receive for free or fifty dollars.
There's tons of tutorials on the net - they're free, it just takes longer.
henry_gonzalez2
One of the best tutorials on the web is Phil's online textbook- click the Learning tab up above. But as Gary said, it will take a long time to make it go from pixels on the screen to knowledge in your brain.
hjoseph7
This online tutorial is totally free. It deals mostly with lighting(Canon Flash) but I think it is one of the best and esiest to understand on the Web. http://super.nova.org/PhotoClass/
mr._sasha
There are many sourses to learn photography online, search google. You might want to start with a book. (under $50 you might even get two) also photographer Robert Grant has great tutorials on his personal page: there is a link in his profile http://www.photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=5883034

elnoralouisa
I totally 100% recommend www.ppsop.com I have taken several course through them. My favorite will always be the flower class. As far as Photoshop, though, there are cheaper ways, like www.lynda.com to learn it.
Many people like BetterPhoto. I have only taken one class through there and happened to end up with a teacher who ignored students who didn't have the best equipment. He basically told me that without this and that, I just wasn't going to get good pictures. That was one teacher so who knows. When I gave my opinion about the class in the after class feedback, I got no response.

jenniferfraser
Thanks Debbie - I am glad to hear such positive feedback. It makes me feel much more comfortable to get started!
:0)
klaus_welch
I've been using www.Michaelthementor.com

Its more of a personal video/article and forum based learning tool, but he does some neat little "Homework" assignments for each area of concern with photography. He goes from Beginner to Expert, you have to pay for the Expert bit, but the three 'levels" before that are free :). I'd imagine this a good spot to get basics down and some lighting concepts, but I'm not sure of how comprehensive it is. I'd start there and then look for more advanced stuff as you get further into it.
