Hole punched in my Velvia Quickload

<p>What gives? The last few times I have turned in some Velvia 50 Quickloads for processing to the local lab, in addition to the marks from the alligator clips, I now see a hole punched thru the image in one corner of the film. But not always. I asked the lab about it and they said it was not from their end. They thought it may be a batch marker. Any ideas or thoughts? I tried to contact Fuji but did not get far.</p>

<p>Sound like it might get processed by hand... I would find out where they bring it, if they really do.</p>

<p>Andrew, all the Fuji Quickloads (Provia and Acros too, for example) have a hole. Not sure what it's for; maybe a processing or drying hanger.</p>

<p>The hole in the corner is for hanging the film to dry. If you use the film hangers with a pin that normally pierce the film (as opposed to the clamping type), you just stick the pin through the hole, and you don't have any clamp marks, plus the film can't slip out of the hanger. It is really nice if you process your own film. I haven't shot Quickloads, but I know that all Fuji negative films have the hole in the corner near the notch code.</p>
