brookref
I have $50 in vouchers to use at Adorama, and I'm not sure what to get. I have a 5D and a G9, and am all set with a tripod, flash, and lenses. I was thinking of getting something fun, perhaps along the lines of a remote cable release, or a Gorillapod or... (sigh).... If you had $50 to $200 to spend, and were pretty much set up with the basics, what would you get? Just looking for ideas.... Thanks!

brucecahn
I sure don't have that problem. My bills there are high. But most of it is film stuff. For digital I would get another card to record on.
joshroot
Never go wrong with another bag.

Getting a gorillapod or two with the flash-shoe insert might be useful if you do any "on location" flash lighting.
brookref
Chas - I have the same addiction. But since that was my automatic response I was trying to find something new, hence the question!
Yup, yup, more memory, always a good thing, G-pod would help.... actually - Josh, that's a great idea. Hadn't thought of using a gorillapod as a flash holder. Hmmm....
(reasons why this forum is fantastic! thanks guys!)

bjscharp
If you don't have a cable release yet, I think that would be a good investment if you ever shoot from a tripod.
acarodp
Hum, I don't know if it can be useful for you, but when I first saw the spydercube i thought it looked like a quite interesting little thing (besides it should be $59). There is a number of these white balance aids around. The Lastolite ezybalance or xpobalance are also cool, they are collapsible and become quite small, and the white side of the ezy is useful as an emergency white reflector for flash or to soften the shadows in a portrait. There are other products with more or less the same purpose, if you look around you will see many different solutions, but the bottom line is, there is a number of cases when to have a white balance / standard grey reference could be quite useful.

L.
andylynn
10 rolls of good film :)

The tabletop tripod idea is also good but the Gorillapod is too ugly. Get the Manfrotto 209.
JDMvW
One or more CF cards for the 5D. Largest I could get for the money.

On eBay you can get clone wired remotes for very much less than the real ones, but I don't thiink Adorama offers anything but the real thing.
mt4x4
If it was me.... I'd get..

An Adorama branded bean bag (same thing as the others but way cheaper)
http://www.adorama.com/ZZBB.html?searchinfo=bean+bag

A Double Lens Mount Cap (for you Canon, for me Nikon)
http://www.adorama.com/OTLMCDCA.html?searchinfo=canon+double+lens+mount+cap

A couple of Media Holsters for memory cards/batteries
http://www.adorama.com/OTMH2.html?searchinfo=media+holsters

And some more rechargeable batteries for my Flash/F100. I've had really good luck w/ the Duracell ones, but I haven't tried any of the Sanyo Eneloops yet.
http://www.adorama.com/IBYAA4D.html

Wow...look at all the stuff you can get for under $50.
steve_t.1
In my opinion, Gorillapod isn't as good as the Ultra-Pod II, I've got both. But Adorama doesn't seem to carry this. Too bad, wonderful little tripod that will hold compacts and mid-size DLSR (body and up to mid-size lens). REI sells them for under $20, and I'm sure plenty of other online retailers, too.

A remote release is very helpful for any up-close work, or weird angle stuff.

aldrich
I'm with Robert Jackson. Look at your workflow and see if there's a pattern with editing images. Do you always find yourself changing the same thing? For me, I always found myself warming my images up post-processing. 81A filter took care of that.

Filter(s).

--Ryan
