Attending an in-studio photography workshop...

<p>At home in Toronto on DSLR's and lighting techniques, and developing a portfolio . A 3 hour session for $55 (regularly $149) from <a href="http://mthirty.com/mtrack/r/dealoftheday_toronto_forum">Red Flag's Deal of The Day</a>. I just started taking photos last month with barely any knowledge, and was wondering if a workshop like this one would be useful for me or if anyone here has been to something like this before. Thanks!</p>

<p>IMHO, any 3 hour long workshop on Photography or about any other form of education for $55.00 sounds like a bargain to me!<br>

Certainly with your just starting out, you will get some good information and knowledge much quicker than by trial and error!</p>

<p>You will always take home something from a program and this one is very reasonable. It's probably not worth spending and hour or two researching a 3 hour program. If the topic interests you, just pay and attend.....-TED :-)</p>

<p>Mike, the best thing about doing a workshop, class etc. is the people you meet how it will motivate you in the future. Hang around people with similar interests and you will be amazed at how it speeds up your learning curve. </p>

<p>It can't hurt for only $55, but if allot of people show, then you are going to have problems getting individualized attention. </p>
