cmitchell
I have to say that after being a member of PN for the last 6 months or so, my favorite has got to be the No Words forum. No ratings, no critiques, just enjoying everyone's photography, whatever the level. I really like to see how people interpret the themes. I just wanted to thank everyone for sharing on that forum. lex_jenkins
I gotta admit, I was a bit of a curmudgeon about the NW threads popping up in the various discussion forums. But it's turned out to be a popular and successful forum in its own right. Heck, even I pop in once in awhile. It does have an interesting cooperative spirit. (BTW, unless I'm disremembering, the Leica Forum originated the NW threads years ago.)
Matt Laur
Oh, sure, it's always the Leica people. "Whatever it is you like, we did it first, better, smaller, quieter, more expensively, and more Teutonically." :-)

Yeah, I gotta admit, the no words threads kind of grow on you. Except of course the cat-related ones.
gordonjb
The NW forum is just plain fun. No pretensions and there is a community spirit to the forum. It was however more fun before I had to start resizing every image to post it. I sure hope that is not a permanent state of affairs.
tholte
The NW forum is a true Cinderella story! No one one whines or complains about the rating system and that is quite refreshing. It is fun and it is nice to see other photographers take on a subject.

milton-chris
Bwaaaaaaaahahahaha! What's that about CATS Matt?
Matt Laur
Now Chris, everyone knows that dog images are more narratively compelling, more culturally enriching, more technically challenging ... just intrinsically better than cat images. The only good thing about a no-words cat thread is that we don't have to also read about cats. :-)
JDMvW
One of my joys on the NW forum(a) is to go look at the more interesting posters' portfolios. Find some treasures that way.
constance_cook
Definitely my favorite. It's the only place I look at photos on the site. I like the cat pictures. Conni
samn
Someone should post a cat vs dog theme on NW. See which wins. I'm with Matt. :0)
samn
JDM, one of the reasons I like it so well is that it makes me look at old photos I would never consider otherwise. Once in a while I find a gem that I overlooked.

gordonjb
Dogs vs cats is not a fair contest, the cats stand no chance at all . Maybe a cats vs unsightly stains on the sofa contest would be a fairer fight.

Matt Laur
I'm reminded of an observation made by my veterinarian. To wit:

If you were suddenly reduced in size to only a few inches tall, your pet dog would know your smell, recognize you, and lay down on command to stay near and protect you. Your cat, on the other hand, would lay down in order to be more comfortable and have a nap while digesting you.
JDMvW
Sam, that too. I too enjoy surfing through the "other" folders for something that will work. I wondered how long it would take before someone posted a photo, but I can't stand it anymore so...
