pmj Posted August 23, 2007 Share Posted August 23, 2007 <p>Nikon has announced two new lenses for their current AF-S line-up.</p> <p> First is the AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED, which is, according to the pressrelease ¨one of the fastest 14mm ultra-wide angle zoom lenses available today.¨As a full-frame lens, it can be used on both film cameras and digital cameras. Onthe new full-frame digital D3 camera as well as on film cameras, it offers greatopportunities when working in tight quarters. On APS-C cameras like the D40,D80, D200 and D2Xs the angle of view is equivalent to 21-36 mm.</p> <p>Second is the AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED which should do well as aphotojournalist's lens, particularly on the D3 camera. This is also a full-framelens which can be used on full-frame digital, APS-C digital and film cameras. OnAPS-C cameras the angle of view is equivalent to 36-105 mm.</p> <h2>From the press release:</h2><p>Both lenses will be available beginning in November 2007. With the D3 and probably many of the newer digitals including a FX sensor, the market for full size lenses is going to be increasing again. Plus it helps out for us who love our film.
