ddob
I inadverdantly rewound a roll of film before it was finished. How do I get the tail out again?
anthony johns
You can stick a piece of an old negative into the roll and then start to pull it out while you wind the roll outwards.
leicaglow
There's also an inexpensive tool to retrieve the leader from the cartridge.

walter_degroot
there is a specific set of instructions on how to do this, but simple version is: take a 6" length of scrap 35mm film trim the end to it does not snag cut the perforsations with mustache or embrodery sissors at a 45 degree angle so it form "sharks teeth" bent these tiny triangles up do this on one side only, the side that would be down by the tongue. poke in the cartridge and roll the film spool sp you can capture the leader tongue. this devide has power and can even tear the film if you are not gentle. http://www.rit.edu/~andpph/pf-faq/faq-19.html it works! bluphoto
So you could rewind a fim with 10exp on it, and put a new film in your camera - once that's done you could put your old film back in and run off maybe 12 shots with the lens cap on and effectively carry on where you left off. Just have to be careful when cutting neg strips as they won't all be the same length - fraction of a frame out. Guy
