marc_van_lommel
Wouldn't it be possible to put the photonet forum into another format? When I download the unified forum it gives me a page over 500 kb ... It's just my opinion, but wouldn't it be better if a format would be used like all other forums out there? It would be more structured, easier to download and better organized ...
pmj
You can customize the Unified View to include only the forums you are interested in: http://www.photo.net/bboard/unified/personalize Do you have any other specific improvements to suggest? The phrase "like all other forums out there" is quite broad (and many people seem to like the simplicity of the photo.net system).
marc_van_lommel
Actually, photonet is the only forum I ever saw in the format you use, most are written in php and it looks like a standard forum format ...
frank_skomial
Why anyone would want to donwload Unified Forum, or any forum ? since it changes so quicky. The search is wonderful, and it goes back to archived postings. Seems that people hardly use this feature ? and always ask the same or similar questions over and over. Photo.net is as easy as it can be, and utilizes web space efficiently, and is structured by forums that are as easy as it can be. Adding any structure like other forums, e.g. nikonians, would make the site less transparent and harder to use. Additional page formatting, color background, frames, tables and other goodies are not necessary, and would possibly make it harder to use. Do not change the good and simple thing, as you cannot improve on perfection. Do not turn photo.net into something that it is not, or should not become. Now you know why the Photo.net is the best web site to share information about photography.
