I'm not sure who's "anti-commercial" and actually not sure what that means. But here's some

other that I like:

Ray;

Eric'

Beau;

Maria;

Ian;

and so many more, including Tony Dummett here on p.net and so on.

does Jenna have a blog/flickr going yet?

Hey Eric! Not yet. Planning on doing something (blog, flickr or website) and I'm in the process of going through my images trying to edit it down a bit. I've posted close to a picture a day since I've been on PN and have a bunch on here I'm not too crazy about.

As for staying? Well I have not yanked anything yet, but I'm still bummed over the departures. Edmo, balaji, Peter, Maria and several others either have yanked their entire folios or stopped participating on this forum. I'm happy to see some still posting, as well as a few new people, but we've lost a lot of talent here. Lots of those folks really motivated me so right now some of my enthusiasm for this forum has been zapped. For now I'm sticking around, but I'm undecided on how active I will be.

Thanks for the mention Barry.
As ususal Jenna seems to do a better job of articulating than I could do - yup, the forum has lost a lot of very good shooters recently, and as I got a lot of inspiration and learning from them, my current enthusiasm's definitely taken a hit. I don't think it would be so bad if people had just moved on, but there's a relationship between bannings, deleted threads and departed photographers that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I'm relatively new to this genre, but what I like about it is that it's unsanitized - it recognizes that there's something resonant in scenes and occurrences that can seem uncomfortable or challenging on the surface. If PN's going to confine the forum to something they think is comfortable for everyome (and I think of the TRP as a yardstick) then I worry that I'm not incented to push myself and explore more. And I don't know that PN's going to change that - key administrators have a lot on their plate and it doesn't look like this forum is of interest to a majority of users, so there's not much incentive for them to bother. Criticism is just deleted, without even an explanation - very saddened to see Bruno's Dear Moderator thread go missing - there was a lot of valuable input on what people wanted from the forum in there, AK bullshit aside.
I've been happy to find a lot of posters here on flickr (including Eddie Law - another missing name). For now I'm dividing my time between the two ... but I haven't yet found an equivalent to PN where information exchange, image posting and discussion can occur in a single thread. Ultimately I agree with Eric - I'll keep rowing because there's a lot to gain from this - but the bloom is off the rose.
And Ben, I've been enjoying this site, iN-PUBLIC too.

You know, a gentlemanly apology would have gone miles.

Now they/we let one talentless self absorbed individual, that most cower away from for fear of banning, run amuck. A shame that this didn't have the reverse effect and strengthen us to continue in a fashion like we never have before.

Talentless? That's a little harsh Eric, and anyway, what's wrong with leaving him alone to do his thing and have his audience of camera hobbyists? There's a point at which others provoked him; it's certainly not one sided; nobody is guiltless.

Nothing excuses abusive languange, I don't care if you're Pablo Picasso, there's no reason to be mean in order to make a point. That some people have chosen to take their ball and go home because they believe good photography excuses bad manners, well, that's their choice, but it makes no sense to me. At any rate it will pass and there are always others of talent who will eventually show up. Life goes in cycles; no need to cry about it.
