paul_s.1
I tried a new lab, and got back some negatives with scratches etc, but was wondering what caused this blank spot on my negative. it's like the spot was covered up on the negative, and never got exposed. but...the areas around this did get exposed. any help would be appreciated!<div></div>

kaiyen
I would second the notion that maybe something physical got in the way of the lens - strap, cable release, etc. I just scanned some images I took inside a church. The frames were cut off diagonally on the top. I was worried that something really weird was going on with the shutter, since it happened on several frames. Then I realized that it was the roof line for that particular part of the building. The light was so low that it came out essentially black...looking like unexposed negative. alaln

lex_jenkins
My granddad had huge paws and his snapshots were distinguished by the frequent appearance of shadows from his thumb or other finger.
