digitaldog
... I am not sure if PixelGenius support would respond. I think they should. I don't know why you think they should respond especially when the web page clearly states: The freeware licensed PhotoKit products are offered "AS IS" and PG makes no warranty as to their use or performance and offers no technical support. digitaldog
OK, so although my PC is a W10 64bit my CS2 Photoshop version seems to be only 32bits!? Nope, both. From the URL: For Windows, you only need to download the specific 32 or 64 bit version of the plug-ins for your operating system requirements. JeffOwen
I have tried to install the Pixel Genius on another PC running CS2 but using Windows 7 pro 64bit and again I get the same result saying that my version of Photoshop is not suitable. I have tried uninstalling and rebooting to no avail. I can only assume that my version of CS2 is not suitable, possibly because it was the version given away free by Adobe to previous users of Photoshop. Dunno. Just think they "may" respond 'coz their announcement mentioned compatibility with CS2 (if this is not so, they should revise their misleading announcement). Also, it doesn't hurt to try because this giveaway is a recent matter and someone there may still be monitoring to see how it goes. :)

This is now a free product without any tech support to be expected other than those who are part of the PG company decide, out of the goodness of their hearts, to do so. 1 Author “Color Management for Photographers" & "Photoshop CC Color Management" (pluralsight.com)
JeffOwen
What I would like to know is what are the 'services' that CS2 is lacking.
Mary Doo
What I would like to know is what are the 'services' that CS2 is lacking. Doesn't hurt to ask them. If they do not help, there's nothing to lose anyway. Suggestion, send an email to: support@pixelgenius.com and info@pixelgenius.com. Include the screenshot. Thank them for the software first, of course. :) That's what I would do if I were you. Again, nothing may happen.

JeffOwen
Thanks to all who have given advice on why I can not get PixelMagic to work on my W10 PC using CS2. I did contact the supplier but only got an automated reply pointing to their help FAQs. There was a near example of my problem (see above) but none actually helped. I have even tried PixelMagic on Photoshop CS4, albeit running in a very old XP PC, and although it loaded OK when I tied it, it crashed Photoshop! It must be me and the way I run my PCs. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

ross_lipman
Having the same problem on CS2.... Rock and a hard place. I understand what "free" means, and I accept a lack of tech support, but company stated it is compatible with CS2. Claim is made but now possibly inaccurate ? What next ? Does this product work in Lightroom ? Edited January 29, 2018 by ross_lipman

All I know this I have used this software for MANY years, before CS6, CS5, etc.
Mary Doo
Does this product work in Lightroom ? Lightroom uses their algorithm. You just need to Export and select the proper sharpening option.
