My contribution this week: a long exposure picture (5 sec at f/11, ISO 200). Camera: Nikon D300s, lens: Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR I, tripod. I used a Schneider B+W neutral density filter No.110, that means 3.0 or 1000x. It reduces the light by 10 stops. The wind moved the sailboat, and the other boat was moving towards me.
Hope you'll like the photo. Regards, Miha.

00YiA5-357427584.jpg.9271f432f009ea7809b6390a9ceef59b.jpg

I like Matt's suggestion to post something out of our usual elements. So, no dance, no architecture, no food for me today. Instead, something I almost never photograph --- animals (admittedly, except for last week too!) These Rockhopper penguins are in the New England Aquarium.

00YiAP-357433584.jpg.a024e5dcc607d30b6512f7e54247c853.jpg

Good Wednesday everyone. The snow is finally gone and there was a break in the rain. The sun was out and so was I; walking around Dodge Park enjoying the 60 degree weather and taking pictures. Nikon D300 Tamron 60mm f/2.8.

00YiAS-357435584.jpg.5ce468d61f0d8bde78fc486bfffddee8.jpg

Good WedNesDay everybody. My contribution is one of the last pictures I was able to take of our beloved Minnie. She passed away last Sunday, aged 12.

D90 with Tamron 17-50 f/2.8.

Some really wonderful photos up already! Thank you to those of you who commented on my hummingbird last week. It was appreciated. :) Since landscapes are very much out of my usual element, I'll post this recent shot of a field of giant sunflowers. Probably not the best day to shoot them since it was very windy and partly cloudy. It's also very flat here, so added a small fisheye effect in PS. (D90/18-105mm @ 1/1000, f/8, ISO 200)

Greetings from the depths of northern Ontario.
Gluttony, thy name was Pearl! I cleaned out the Koi pond this past weekend. All sorts of delicious morsels were exposed as the water drained (insect larvae, young plants, etc). Pearl took advantage of this and gobbled herself to her demise. She was pure white and about 6cm long when we got her 9 years ago. She is survived by her much larger pondmates Pasty and Spotty, her shubunkin sister 'White Lips', and her spawn 'Mini-Pearl' and countless little Koi that have not changed colour yet.

00YiBZ-357455584.jpg.cbfefe12784f87374edac979f526218b.jpg

Simply too many great photos today to comment on. Unfortunately I don't get the time to get out to photograph as much as I would like, so my meager contribution is just another flower photo I managed to snap in a hurry. Kris, I am sorry to hear about your beloved Minnie, she looks like she was a sweet pup.

00YiBx-357467784.jpg.5074451a4c700429dba9737caf13f0fe.jpg
