ShunCheung

As I was taking the picture, I heard one of the moms say to another one, "She doesn't look dangerous, does she?" Glad to know I don't!

Lisa, that is one big advantage for being female. At restaurants, my wife sometimes approaches small children, especially girls, and show them simple origami, and most girls like that. Pretty much all parents are also comfortable with it; in particular, my wife is petit and certainly does not look threatening.

However, I can't imagine myself doing that.

nathangardner
I usually browse through the Wed. thread but never comment being a Canon guy (gasp!), but I thought I'd drop a line this week. Lots of great stuff here as always. I particularly liked the osprey shots being more of a birder myself. Hoping to get some next week as I travel to Hilton Head, SC. Keep up the good work.

User_2019667
Hello to all on Nikon Wednesday. Sorry I'm late. Some wonderful shots today. Mine today is one that I took back in Feb. 2011. My old black Lab "Ricky" in the background through two wire fences. A Bluebird in the foreground. We rescued Ricky about 11 years ago from a certain death at the shelter. "Ricky" went to the "RAINBOW BRIDGE" this past Friday. I am sure the bluebird in the photo was his "Earthly Angel".
John Pender

sebastianmoran
Late 2009 in Maui... I little HDR experiment. It's a shaded tunnel down to the beach, with a huge brightness range. This is an HDR in Photomatix from a seven-shot bracket handheld. If you let the program run wild, the image brightness is much to even. I had to dial it back to get the darkness in the shade that I wanted. I use HDR to control contrast and I like the result when it looks normal.

Maui High Brightness Range -- Nikon D200, Photomatix, seven-shot bracket

kdpowell
Happy Wednesday. This is another picture of my youngest son's soccer game. I am sure I am not the only parent out there trying to squeeze a Sports Illustrated photo from their offspring's efforts on the field of play. I like this picture because of the juxtaposition of the total focus on the ball by the players on the field to the turned backs and childhood conversation of the players on the sideline.
