    This is not a "series E" lens. These lenses are VERY hard to find in my neck of the woods , so I bought what was available. The lens is in good condition. I actually wanted the all metal JDM version , but no luck there. This plastic made in Japan lens has a MUCH better build quality than my made in China 50mm f1.8 AF "D" version.

    Human eyesight is not constant and equal for everyone , people do tend to see colours differently , if you like the lens , buy it and don't sweat the small stuff.

    Can N.G. be trusted nowadays , what with Photoshop and all , this is not to say that N.G. is not a great magazine. Darkroom "adjustments" of photo's taken on film is a bit harder than using Photoshop today 😉.

    Battery issues will always be a problem for older digital camera's. The camera manufacturers want to sell their newest models with proprietory batteries , carefully planned obsolescence and all that. "Aftermarket" replacements are not always available worldwide.
