    White Pocket Wave

White Pocket is a great alternative to the nearby Wave. It's certainly not a easy place to reach. Miles and miles and even more miles along bumpy dirt roads and deep sand tracks. If anyone is considering visiting White Pocket please heed the information sheet provided by the BLM or you could get into very deep trouble if you don't. Saying that I would love to spend the night there as I imagine the stars would be amazing as it's so far from any lights.
  2. That should have been “harder” not garden. Don’t you just love autocorrect.
  3. I’ve found that Common Milkweed is not very good but Swamp Milkweed is excellent and pretty easy to grow from seed. Orange Milkweed is great too but garden to grow from seed.
  4. I’m stacked out with Monarch caterpillars at the moment. The other day I counted 11 on one Swamp Milkweed alone. I’m in Pennsylvania I ought to add.
  5. Was the butterfly in Montana, that will help narrow the possible species?
  6. Follow up. I sent it back to Hasselblad in NJ and they fixed it. $300 poorer for it. I took a few test shots and the camera went belly up. Couldn't reset the shutter, couldn't remove the lens. So this time camera and lens went to Hasselblad NJ. The good news is that it's working again and I'm $450 poorer. This shooting with film is an expensive game. I suspect it's what you get when using an elderly camera.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I would like to shoot into the sun and from what I gather from your reply is that I should use the spot meter on or near to the sun. I’ll give that a try.

  14. I'm getting back into film photography with Hasselblad 503CX. I started metering using an iPhone app which seemed reasonable but I wasn't doing something right so I bought a Sekonic L-758DR. I watched a few video's and read a bit and mostly I'm getting it right. Flash I find is great, I bounce of the ceiling or walls (the flash that is not me) and take a reading and it works out great. What I'm unclear on is Sunrise and Sunset photography. Do I reverse the meter so the dome is facing the sun or is the best way to use the Incident meter pointing to the side of the brightest part of the sky or something else entirely? Cheers Mike
  15. The interlock button seems to be OK. The lens is all boxed up and ready to ship to Hasselblad in NJ. Thanks for the advice guys.
  16. It’s a CF lens. I’ll send it to Hasselblad in NJ. Thanks.
  17. I’ve been lurking for a while reading this Forum in particular as I’ve just got back into film photography with a Hasselblad 503CX and this seems to be a great place to glean information. I’ve put 5 films through it so far with pretty nice results. Today however I discovered an issue with the 50mm Distagon lens. I can’t get the full range of shutter speeds. It only goes between 1/4th - 1/8th at the slow end and 1/125th -1/250th at the fast end. I can select between f/22 and f/4 OK. Any suggestions as to what it might be and if I have to send it to be fixed where can I send it in the US? Thanks Mike
