I just bought a 70 - 300 mm lens and was trying it out yesterday evening. This is a field and wooded area close to my house.

No snow this year but we have had more than our share of rain. I took this in a wooded area down from my house the other morning on what seamed like the first actual sun rise this year.

Punta thanks for supplying the image again it is very nice. All work in GIMP. I started out to do a dark split tone but I did not like the results. So I used the split tone layers over the original image and liked this desaturated look. The water board guy from a few weeks ago got in to the image some how.

Waterfall near Hebersprings Ar. A lot of local debate about the legitimacy of this waterfall because the water is supplied by an underground pipe from Grease Fairy Lake over a mile away. Image taken Saturday morning.

Punta thanks for posting again this week. This is a very nice image. All work in Gimp and I made two versions and combined them. My first take I used luminosity mask to in cress contrast and saturation. Take 2 was a split tone. I liked the way the creatures eye looked in the split tone so I combined the too by stacking the two layers with take 1 on top. I used a mask and the blend tool to fade in the split tone layer from just behind the head forward. Then I adjusted the opacity on the top layer to get a little smother blind and look.
