  1. The majority of voters and the majority of voters in the right states in the U.S. have changed the world.

    The Right voters eh.

    Hmmmmm.

I hear some are making lists....

    Additionally.

Photos that change the world, and photos of world change are two distinctly different things.

  2. To the opposite of this incident, I recently drove through a similar fence/gate & stood on the grounds of a similar dam/lock facility on the Ohio River, out in full view in broad daylight and shot more than a few photos of the structure with 2 different devices. The only people I had talking to me were a couple fisherman- some old guy & his son.

Yeah, but who gives a shit about that dam....

  3. I love cops. Especially handsome ones with big guns.

I snapped this just before he was able to wave me off. I gave him a sheepish "oops" smile and he smiled back. It doesn't always work out so neatly, of course, but I've had many more good encounters with cops, officials, and janitors than bad ones. So I guess my photographic glass is more than half full.

    Great Photo.

    Common Ground.

  4. You see these same arguments in many discussions of activities.

Hunting, fishing, shooting, cooking all lend themselves to variations in their practice along a varying scale of difficulty concurrent with developments in the process.

It appears to me that it is Human Nature to devise shortcuts in everything we do.

And to a lesser degree, Human Nature to explore was is possible under the constraints of the past.

    It’s all good.

I cannot think of a better time for photography than to be able to still experience a reach back with some really excellent old equipment, and at the same time, so simply and efficiently capture unique as well as utilitarian photographs.

  5. He simply wanted to assess your purpose in being there.

The difference of perspective in looking out and looking in.

    No harm, no foul.

The reason he asked questions in the manner he did was to make an assessment while being careful not to say anything suggesting you could not do what you were doing.

He was judging your intent by your reaction.

    Simple as that.
