  1. I do know of a wide-angle focussing device for the Tech III available in Sydney. It takes short focal length lenses on Technika 45 boards and focusses by a screw thread like a bigger version of the 4x5 wide-angle focussing device. I doubt it would facilitate movement though, just making focus an easier operation.

THIS IS ONLY FOR COPAL 0 !

  2. Linhof Technikardan V 5x7

How much front rise do you have with that model ?

    >Is a 110 xl lens usable with max rise ?

    >I used to have a Tech V 4x5, and sold it for a technikardan S for

    architecture , but now having a 110xl and a 180 apo symmar; i'm

considering to buy a Tech V 5x7 for landscape works !

    Any suggestions ?

  3. if you want to use roolfilm, just forget the technika, i used to have one and sold it for that reason !

Now, i'm using a technikardan, not so bad, but it dislikes windy conditions !

Now, i'm considering to switch to WALKER TITAN WIDE, or XL.

    my lens are 55,75,110,180, and i'm shooting 6x7/6x12/4x5 !

you can also consider an arca swiss F line 6x9, and later buying a 4x5 back and bellows for it !

  4. press lens are very limited in term of coverage, maybe some simple angulon (later the model) can be used, but i don't think you will have sharp corners ! Don't forget that film and processing is expensive, if you are using a 4x5 with a bad lens, it will be better to use a medium format camera and crop to get a sort of rise...
  5. i must confess that i just don't like 4,5x6, because i find it too expensive in term of film...cameras are much bigger than 135, and the gain of quality vs a leica m is not that great. I ve an hasselblad that i use only in 6x6, when i want to make a rectangle shot, i use 6x7 or 4x5.

Considering a digital slr for landscape for small prints, is a good idea, but you have to consider prime lens as well, i will go with canon for their PC lens (24 and 45). Considering the factor of the sensor, the 24 will be a 24, 30, 34 lens with shift capabilities !

  6. i'm currently using a linhof technikardan S 4x5, with a 6x12 techno

rollex, and i found out that this back weight too much for that

camera, and this combo is very sensitive to windy condition, wich is

quite often the case here. So i was looking for a new camera for my

architecture needs, i was fisrt interesting in Ebony finesse, but not

enought shift, and non compatible to my backs, same for silvestri,

cambo was a good compromise, but i can't have my 110 xl mount for

it...i've just find out that a Walker Titan XL maybe a good

alternative for my needs (www.sacripant.net)! any suggestions ?

  7. to go fast using shift but but without tilt capabilities th cambo wide DS and sinar 6x12 panorama or zoom backs is a good option (slide in backs). i'm using myself a technikardan S and a techno rollex back, the back is excellent but very heavy and you need to remove the GG to put the back !
  8. super symmar 80 xl and a 135 apo sironar S (or even better a 110xl) is the best option if price is not a problem.

90/8 nikon and 135 apo symmar or apo sironar n or S in second hand, is the best value for money.

just one lens ? 75 is very wide for 4x5, and too close to 55 for 6x9 use (comparing to the gap between 75 and 210)

110 is over kill for 6x9, and sometimes, not large enought for 4x5

    I will go for a 90 /4,5 apo grandagon N

if i was shooting only 6x7, i will have 55/80/150

if i was shooting only 6x12, i will have 80/110/180

if i was shooting only 4x5, i will have 75or80/110/180or210

    i'm using myself 55/75/110/180 with 6x6/6x7/6x12 and 4x5

but this is a question of taste, with my hasselblad i'm using 60/80/120, a friend of mine is using 50/100/150, and we don't want to change...
