"The design of the of the ARCA backframe does not allow the full shift with the 35mm digital lens , because the rear of the
lens barrel is wider and longer as for the APO- GRANDAGON 4,5/45mm , which I also have . (No restrictions for that lens
at all) ."
i'd like to know if the same problem will occur with a schneider digitar 35XL ?
-
@Jurgen,
i'm prepare to use exactly the same combo as yours !
How do you focus ? just using the arca ground glass ? no focussing shift ?
Are you using a rotaslide or a similar product ?
Can i use a rotaslide with a Fline 69 and the 35 mm ?
Thanks

is anyone ever tried a digital back with this lenses :
........schneider 80 XL
........schneider 58 XL

........rodenstock apo ronar 240 ?
thanks

i went to a local shop to see some display sizes... i've finally order a LACIE 320, for my use
the 3/4 aspect ratio seems much better, and a reputable dealer told me that the lacie is much
neutral, while the Eizo can be use for both photo and video...
-
"As for the Eizo, I'm still trying to figure out what they bring to the party for all that extra
money." the Eizo CE210W is cheaper than the NEC !
The CG210 is just too expensive for me !
The CE210W is repport to be better than the bigger CE240W.
The Eizo use USB for the calibration, and comes with a 5 years warranty. The Nec
Spectraview are hard to find in france.
I think, i will go with the CE210W and is incorparated USB 2 HUB.
PS: hood is optional with the Eizo and cost 200 euros !
-
I was in a proces to buy a Nec 2090Uxi, thinking that it was the same as the spectraview model, but
considering calibration, i've found out that it wasn't !
So...
One is a 21" Eizo 16/10 and cost 1200 euros
the LACIE is a 3/4 20" and cost 1050 euros
but considering color calibration (i owned an eye one 2 display calibrator)
shall i go with the 21"Eizo or the 20" LACIE ?
Thanks
-
it looks like there's something more...
the spectraview models are hand controlled and calibrated, and they allowed hardware
calibration... but the calibrator isn't included, just the nec software !
But for the price of the spectraview, i think the Eizo CE210W is a better alternative, and
comes with a 5 years warranty !

my short list ;
the HP LP2065 seems quite good for the price (500 euros)... and the LACIE 320 new while
expensive (1300 euro including calibrator !) seems good !

Hi,
i'm in the process to buy a 20" display.
I allready have a gretag eye one calibrator (sold by pantone) so i don't need a new calibrator.
I'm a little bit confused about two of screens sold by NEC:
is the LCD2090UXi-SV spectraview the same monitor as the simple MultiSync LCD2090UXi but without
the calibrator, or i miss something ?
The SV cost 1350 euro, while i've found the non SV for 750...
Thanks for your answer !
PS : i will use it with a macbook Pro 15" to adjust my photographs...

a Leica R 50/2.0 and a Zeiss Contax 50/1.4. ...
aren't they quite similar ? why carrying both of them ?

James,
if it's too thick you don't get infinity focus, and if it's too thin you can focus past infinity...
i didn't read anywhere else that the 35 have this kind of problem with the 5D... but i read the
there was a bunch of Contax/eos adaptors that where too thin... to make shure that you can
rich infinity... you have to find one, that is just the right size !
-
i've spend some hard time surfing to find the best value adapters for my 5D.
i'm looking for an adaptater to mount a zeiss contax 35/2,8 on a
eos 5D... an adaptator that allowed infinity focus for shure, that secure the lens, and that doesn't touch
the 5D mirror...
it looks like, thate there is different thickness as well...
I don't need AF confirm adapter, i just want to mount my 35 (and later a 28/2,8, a 50/1,4 and maybe a
35PC)...
any advice ?
Thanks
-
i've found a Rollei HFT 35/2,8 for cheap, i will try it first... i've seen a 35 canon, and i don't
like the feel of it... i'm not using AF !
i'll keep you inform !
-
having the tse 24 and 45, i need a 35... i hate distorsion (i shoot LF...) , i've read that the 35/2 is a good
value for money lens (i shoot always around F11...), so what about distorsion with that lens ?
shall i consider a 28/2,8 leica or zeisscontax instead ?
thanks

it happens to me the first time i have used my 5D, i've reformatted the CF CARD several
times, and the problem disappear !
-
considering all the Hassy V available (and rollei 6000, Mamiya RZ...) i can imagine that a
48x48 digital back with CF and battery (as the cfv) can find a market, even if it's just a 12M
back... the good price seems more important than number of pixel for this small back !
let say less than 7000 $... one day, it will be possible... cross fingers !
-
it depends on the type of shooting... sometimes in lowcontrast situation is difficult to see a
difference at print smaller than 40X50cm.
But most of time, the digital file looks flat compare to film !
I have a 5D and TSE LENS... but for my personal work i prefer my ARCA 45 !
with 4X5 you can make larger print, and some lens are distorsion free... not like Canon's lens
!
-
the discontinued super symmar HM 120 is a good alternative, but hard to find !
-
i found the 24 to be not as good as the 45 TSE... in term of edge to edge sharpness with the
5D !
-
Schneider Super angulon 28 PC with Canon 5D ?
anyone is using this combo ?
i have the 5D and the 24 TSE, while simple to use, i found the 24 to be not as good as the 45 TSE for
example...
-
for 6x9 and architecture, arca swiss f-line 69 is the way to go !
And if you can afford the metric one, it's even better !
-
no more lacie crt available anyway !
-
Epson R800 for achival prints !
otherwise the R220 is a good value for money !
-
the must have in 4x5...
wide 80xl or 72 xl depends on how much IC do you need
moderate wide 110 XL
normal apo sironar S 150
While my favourite in therm of angle of view is the 110 Xl, the 150S remains the sharper
by a little margin !

the main trouble with the 24 TSE at F11 isn't softness but distorsion... and you have to correct it manually (DXO or PTlens
can't handle TSE lenses !).
The best value for money for you, will be to buy a second hand 5D after the arrival of the 5D mark II, and buy a canon 45
TSE lens !
If money is no concern, then the Nikon D700 and the nax 45 PCE should be even better... or maybe the Next 5D !
