  1. Castle Crag in the English Lake District on a fine winter morning. I

know: the tree is probably too centered, but I had little choice in my

viewpoint: I was shooting in the direction of the sun so I had to take this

in the shade of a nearby tree. Nevertheless I'm happy with the

atmosphere in this photo. Comments welcome, please view the large

    version.

Wow, awesome! Must have been great being there! A small critical note: the sharpening could have been better, I see bright halos around the dark rocks, you could have avoided these by choosing a smaller 'radius' (presuming you work in PS).

I can't remember if I did this on a tripod, but I might do that today and go for maximum DOF. On the other hand, it's not uncommon to include out of focus foreground elements in zoomed-in photos to give a sense of depth. Apart from these considerations, the yellowish blobs of color definitely makes this photo somewhat livelier IMO.

  2. IMHO (over)saturation is not an objective thing, this photo is oversaturated, apart from that post-processing is too noticeable in the halo and the clouds, is this HDR?. Also this photo lacks a real point of interest.
