great lighting and the composition is a surprise..ordinarily i would want the goat facing into the frame, but the way he seems to be looking back somehow balances the shot...nice
  1. the subject, colors and composition are great..obviously not a portrait of your grandaughter(more of santa)unless you know the story..but a great expression of the season and a child's exitement ..almost Norman Rockwellish(which is a compliment, and hopefully taken as such)
  2. i was going thru the previous day's posts and this one struck me right away...great shot(i say to myself)and rate it highly....and then i see what others have rated it and i think(rather alarmed)what did i miss?what is wrong with this shot?NOT A THING!!i guess i just have better taste..;)the contrast, the action, everything about this puts you there with the wind and spray in your face..really,really good(in my oh so humble opinion)shot
  3. This was in a little boxing club and the kid couldn't afford the $11 per month membership fee.But he went to watch(rather longingly)every day.If you look closely at the bottle it actually(imo)has a place in the story. After i tok this shot I talked to the kid and after he got permission from his parents,I am paying his fee for him...he really wants to box and while i am not a big boxing fan,i feel there are worse things he could be doing after school....Thankyou for your interest

the compositions change so it's hard to do a real comparison..generally i like the b&w ones better, but i like one of the color ones the best because i think those colors work well together..check your ratings
  4. The color is not that different from the actual..it is called safety

yellow and is used to designate forklift traffic areas and

structures..i would appreciate any comments on the use of

    dodging/burning(too heavy handed?)and composition(balanced?)of this

shot..as well as any ratings and/or comments on whether this shot has

appeal as an abstract image..all opinions(pro and con)are

    appreciated..thanks
