Great photo, after great photo, after great photo, etc, etc, etc. This one is so incredible. So inspiring. Your work needs to ne on museum walls - and my walls! I would be honored.
  1. Death of a child - an all too common occurrence out West in the 1800s

and early 1900s. This graveyard was the only remains of a town called

Silver City, Utah. The silver ran out and the people left - leaving

only a lonely graveyard - and the spirits that once were. I tried to

capture that sense of abandonment and desolation.

Mary, your image needs some post processing as it stands. It is very flat as viewed on a calibrated monitor. If you are using a LCD monitor they come from the factory WAY too hot (too bright and way too much contrast). If this is true you need to calibrate your monitor. With less than 30 seconds work in Photoshop this is what your photo looks like. If it is too hot on your monitor then you need to turn it down. I hope this helps. This really is a very nice photo and I have seen the scene many times. I live in Payson, Arizona.

    Late for Dinner

Taken in the ghost town of Stein, New Mexico. Stein was once a

railroad and mining town that simply dried up when the railroad left.

Because of many factors, men often failed to come home. They simply

left - or died from mine accidents. The women were often simply

abandoned and left to fend for themselves - and care for the children.

I absolutely love the action of the waves and the composition. However, I would consider going a little easy on the corner burning. It seems a little artificial to me - and ruins the wonderful effect of the wave action. Nevertheless, a great photo.

I love the composition. Very dynamic. I certainly do not like the suggested crop submitted. Static and boring. There is something very unsettling about this photograph that sets it apart. Standard thirds cropping would simply ruin it. Good eye!
