1.
BTW, do you guys know if I can get a third part hood that can be stored in reverse so I can keep it with the lens? Like one from Ebay called:

FOTGA 52mm Screw Mount Standard Metal Lens Hood for Canon Nikon Pentax Sony Hot

I cannot add the ebay link sorry.

If not I will just get another Rubber one.
Thanks!

 2.
Wow, I just noticed one sold on ebay for $400 plus shipping just 3 days ago. Indeed I bought it for sure at that price and based on the pics and description.
But based on your comments, I am sure I will fall in love with it and end up keeping it! :)

I got a 200mm F2.8 IF as well in excellent condition for $90 and a 350105mm for 60 so total I paid $360 for all 3.
Cant wait to get them tomorrow!
Then is testing time.

 3.
I guess the fact that there are not that many makes it indeed a safe test to recover my money if not using it. :)

 4.
Well, I have been doing the same for my mirrorless and as far as Zoom Lenses the best one based on what I have read is the 80-200mm F4L
Another popular one which I have and like a lot is the 35-105mm F3.5

 5.
Hello!
Looks like I am always very active here lol
Anyways, I got the FD 135mm 2.8 which is extremely sharp. I got it in a trade for a Rokkor X 135mm 2.8.
But now I am buying two more Canon Lenses and the guy also has the 100mm F2 in pristine condition and will sell it for $210. I am just not so sure if I should do it.
First I do have the 35-105mm so while not comparable in performance, the range is sort of cover. Then again I have the 50mm 1.4 which is covered too.
The reason for me to wonder about the 100mm F2 is that the stuff I read about it claim it to be superb. But then again the 135mm 2.8 is no slacker either.
I guess I would have to determine which range I will use more often for Portraits and the link but maybe I can get some comments here and even if the price is any good as the ones on sale on Ebay are overpriced from what I have seen.
Thanks!

 6.
Thanks for the recommendations guys. I will be patient and keep checking those.
BTW I did check out gokevincamera and OMG...as you said...insane prices lol

 7.
Hi!
I have been trying to get a 80-200 F4L not from ebay coming from Japan with fungus lol
Beside FMiranda forums, where else do you guys look for stuff.
KEH does not have any right now.
Thanks!

 8.
So final word, it is the lens that has the issue.
The guy is going to cover for the repair so all is good. :)
Thanks!

 9.
Indeed I have two lenses that go past infinity so I am thinking that lens is at fault here to be honest. We shall see today when I take it to the repair place. :)

 10.
Well, that is now 2 basic adapters and the Lens Turbo 2 adapter and neither one gets infinity focus so I am taking it to a local shop tomorrow that I recall works on those lenses as I took a 35-105mm before to have it checked.
Good suggestions :)

 11.
Hi!
I finally went out to fully test my new lenses since I also got a Canon FD 2x extender and noticed that the 200mm is not focusing to infinity so I thought it was because of the extender but then I tried with a basic FD to NEX adapter and with the Lens Turbo 2 and either way, I am not able to focus to infinity.
Is like just so close but cannot get there which is very frustrating as I love the rendering on that lens even for portraits.
Any ideas?

 12.
I just did that and I can see that metal piece moving when I change aperture but it does remain wide open. Lame :/

 14.
Hi!
I attached a picture showing this lens. It is not changing aperture. I tried with the Lens Turbo 2 and a normal FD adapter.
The only difference I see is that piece of metal is not all the way to the side like it is on the other lenses I got and I am not sure how to make it move.

http://i57.tinypic.com/2cmni9d.jpg

Thanks!

 15.
The reason I was having a hard time believing it will beat the Prime is because I found this thread comparing the 80-200 L vs the same lens I have, the SEL55210 and the IQ (detail) look a lot closer there than when I tested my 200 2.8 vs the SEL55210 which was a clear knockout victory :D
http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52754448

I am looking for one on ebay daily since my expectations were just being able to match my prime at 200mm with it...so if its better then that is just a bonus for me! :)

 16.
Thanks guys!
I am really surprised with the replies. I honestly thought at 200mm at best I could maybe get close to the prime performance with the zoom not actually beat it.
Guess I will have to get one then!
Maybe I will still keep the 200mm even if the other one is as good for low light sports like hockey when I normally was using a 135mm 2.8 before (close to the 200mm when you add 1.5 crop factor)
Thanks for the help.

 17.
Hi all!
First post! :)

After getting the FD 200mm F2.8 and seeing how it blows my Sony SEL55210 zoom out of the water ...seriously look like different cameras...I started thinking of selling my zoom and getting on of those famous L lenses...the 80-200 F4 L. I know is not as fast but F4 is still good plus with the Lens Turbo 2 that will be one stop faster still.
My concern is trying to find images comparing the 200mm end on the zoom vs my prime.
I guess I am asking too much for a zoom to match a Prime lens but maybe those L lenses are THAT good.
In any case, that is 3 FD lenses now I own and each one just makes me drool!

I saw also a lens for sale on ebay, a 85-300mm but it has a small chip on the lens which I think is the reason people is not buying it. :/

I could add a 2x type b extender to my 200mm and without using the booster, it will end up being an actual 600mm lens but I am more thinking about having the flexibility of a nice zoom.
Thanks!
