I agree. I think having a well perceived concept of what a genre is all about is a good & a bad thing. As an example, there is a
street pg group on flickr that is heavily curated and applies its selection criteria with an almost religous fervour. The
upside of this is the quality of the images; many of which are superb. The downside is that it is necessarily restrictive in
its attitude towards creativity. Try posting a b&w pic for review or, god forbid, an image produced using Art Filters™.

Your pic should also be less than 100k in size.

I always upload a pic straight from my hard disk or iphone. You can upload after confirming your post(which can be
anything including blank spaces). Make sure pic is less than 700 pics wide and remember to add a caption. There is a
Test Post forum for testing.

I like Canon. I hope they manage to overcome any finaancial difficulties they may be experiencing.

Kris, thankfully your teacher only taught English.

"So, Norman, is that projection in your central shape a nose or a penis?"
What kind of juveneille, girly response is that?

Thanks for the links. The Leica S User Group just lost a load of street cred. RIP.

sorry, didn't mean to sound dismissive. i should have omitted the words "just" & "inevitable". all change (as peter gabriel once said) is a good thing.

Thank you Edwin. It was taken on the island of Langkawi, Malaysia looking out at the Andaman Sea.

(it was also taken with an iphone 5, like your lovely shot)

it's just another, inevitable, iteration of the photography, IT interface.

Gene, I can heartily recommed the canon g1-x as a great travel camera. Excellent IQ, great implementation of zone
focussing, small and good zoom range(28-112) but not constant aperture. Not the fastest camera and you need an extra
thingy to use filters.

I've been travelling for 16 months now and the ultimate travel camera is something i'd be interested in. If the RX10 had a
zoom range of 24-50/2.8 and was therefore quite a bit smaller & lighter, I'd be very interested.

I've just discovered what was wrong; I had inadvertently enabled private browsing.
(That also explains the black search bar/nav bar in safari)

Everything seems ok. Apart from the black borders/keyboard
Thanks

Sorry, I should have said. It's Safari on ios7. I've also got lots of black borders now as well (i've not reversed the colour
schema)

Anyone else?

I love the linked image of Alec Soth on the step ladder. Talk about TS-ing with your feet.

Thanks Bruce

Less is more.
First international job - memory cards and airport scanners???

You are more likely to suffer mechanical HDD failure on your travels than any problem due to airport security measures.
And that itself would be a rare event. These days though, I use SD cards for backup. They are tough little suckers.
