Let's admit it: I'm an ithyphallic reductionist with a hard-on for physics.
8/8 for this sentence alone, forget about the photo.
-
nice form and color. imho, the shape in the middle of the photo on the horizon is distracting (why not photoshop it out?).
-
maybe it's the scan, but looks a little blurry and a bit washed out? seems like the colors in the print are probably more vivid and the figures are in sharper focus.
-
lovely form. can't decide if i like the shape of the breaker or not. love the mist and exposure. lightness of fog in upper left is balanced nicely with both dark building and light-toned breakers. i guess i'd like it more if the protuding part of the breaker was in the foreground instead of the middle to background.

i think this would be stronger without the extra clutter over the ME's left shoulder. subject is the me and the body, but the eye is drawn to all the stuff by the sink and the shelves. maybe a crop?
-
i like the composition, but i guess i feel that leaving the background/middle so out of focus unbalances the photo a little. Just My Opinion.
-
dark and moody. nice
-
why is the subject so muted? feels like the attention should be on the church, and it feels like it really doesn't stand out from the rest of the scene.
-
great moment!
-
nice lighting, lower right "thing" distracts. could you crop just above the brown stuff?
-
great portrayal. makes me feel like i'm shivering out in the woods. exposure was perfect for the mood. nice.
-
wow.
-
even better than the last one
-
there's depth and balance and a lot of thought here, methinks. either that or a lot of film. maybe both.
-
wow. great colors. bet you had to work for this.
-
powerful image of industrialization
-
nice palette. nice balance.
-
subtle, but very nice. nice balance, fore/mid/background. i wonder how this looks in bw?
-
captures the spirit of the player and the moment. nice.
-
great action shot.
-
lacks snap. kinda drab. composition's ok, but all the gunk in the water and dull colors make it a snapshot for me. sorry.
-
interesting, but a little busy
-
my initial impression is that it's a bit heavy to the right. on both the top on bottom of the frame you have a lot of dark tones and activity/weight. not necessarily a bad thing, but i'm trying to answer your specific question instead of comment on other things.
while you could argue the density of the trees in lower right is offset by the light in the upper left, for me I think balance is like against like. different (light sky) against different (dark trees) throws a contrast and a weight. if the background portion of the photo was reversed, i think you'd have better balance.

"you decide, not the camera". couldn't agree more - the answer to your question on "is this correct" is "is the snow as grey as you wanted it?"
white snow could be gray if you're going for dark and moody. white snow could be featureless white if you're going for stark and cold. i'm no expert, but i've read a bunch and while i can't create what i want to (yet), the brightness/darkness (or tone) of the snow is up to you to creatively decide.
Now, to try and be a bit helpful, imho, for this scene, i would have exposed a bit more - i think the snow is a bit grey for the feeling of this scene.
