The goal of The Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Certification (WPPIC) is to set the industry’s new standard of professionalism that will guide the artistry and business practices for wedding and portrait photography worldwide.</p> <p>Developed by a team of highly respected wedding photographers, WPPIC is an online course and exam created to verify a candidate’s mastery in the art and business of wedding and portrait photography. It is a two part program, the first part of which covers the fundamentals of photography and the second part which consists of lighting and composition, posing, advice on wedding day timelines, and communication with clients. Successful candidates will pass an online multiple-choice exam based on the WPPIC curriculum, and submit images and business materials for a portfolio review by a panel of experts. After candiates are apporved by the panel, they will be given official certification and will be able to promote their accreditation online and in-print with the WPPIC Official Seal.</p> <p>The program begins and ends at the candidate’s discretion but can be completed in as little as three months. Many candidates will pursue certification between other jobs, and therefore, there are no specific deadlines for course completion.The WPPIC online certification course has a one-time registration fee of $299; annual U.S. PHOTO+ membership to WPPI is $125 with a slightly higher international rate. </p> <p>Candidates wishing to apply for the WPPIC certification program can register <a href="http://www.nyip.edu/courses/wppi-certification/signup">here</a>.</p>
