  1. (Yes, I was excited to get this new lens, but when using it I find that alot of my pictures are blurry.)

Make sure you have auto ISO set to ON. Custom menu setting #7 so that as the shutter speed slows down below a point you specify (I

use 1/30th of a sec) it will increase the ISO to a maximum you specify, (I let it go to 1600 ISO) to maintain that minimum shutter speed.

I own the same lens and it is razor sharp and is on my camera always.

    Best Regards

    Bill

  2. If your D60 has in camera noise reduction for exposures longer than 8 seconds be sure to turn that OFF. My D80 does some weird things

with exposures in excess of 2 or 3 minutes. If I don't turn NR off the Noise reduction algorithum that brings my D80 to its knees. Do your

    NR in post.

  3. Do you use the main command dial (rear) to browse fwd & bkwd instead of the multi selector, when you view images on you LCD screen? If you are and at the same time using the playback zoom button, it's possible that you inadvertantly changed the quality setting the moment the LCD turned off changing back to shooting mode. This is because the zoom(QUAL) button in conjunction with the main command dial (rear) changes the quality settings when the monitor is OFF!

    Maybe this helps,

    Bill

  4. I've bought and sold over 175 items on eBay and have paid, and been paid with PayPal. I use PayPal to check out with B&H photo as well as serveral other suppliers. I have sent and received Payment requests with PayPal and have NEVER experienced a problem of any kind!
  5. I also use the mbd80 grip with two EN-EL3e batteries which provides all the power you need for a week. I carry the AA holder in case of emergency but I have yet to use it. Furthermore, when the d80 manual states that you cannot use AA batteries in the mbd80 for mirror lockup purposes, that tells me that it's best to stay away from the AA's. You're going to love the mbd80 for no other reason than its vertical grip, control and feel. It never leaves my d80!

    Good Luck

  6. I have two Nikon sb600's and one sb800 that I'm having difficulty mounting to

light stands for which I want to use umbrellas. The flash shoe/umbrella

receptical which mounts atop my light stands WILL NOT accept my Nikon Speed

Lights. Now I have Nikon AS-19 flash shoes for all of them but that doesn't

help! It seems that the receptical's hot shoe channel is too thick to accept

the speedlight's shoe. Please see the posted image of what DOES NOT FIT. Is

there an adapter or, what am I missing? Thank you for any help, Bill

  7. I own the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my D80 as well as the 17-55mm f2.8 DX pro glass. While the 17-55mm is without question the better lens, the kit lens for what it is, is pretty good! I found the learning curve on the D80 steep as it was my first leap from film to my first DSLR. If this is your first forey into a DSLR and because the 18-55mm kit lens is so cheap I'd recommend starting with it, while you learn the camera. You're going to love your D80, Good luck, Bill.
