How accurate is the colour match tool in photoshop. To me it’s seems not that accurate. For example I took a photo, made some alterations in another package. Then colour matched the original photo back to the alteration, it didn’t match to the processed one. I guess is supposed to give an approximation, rather than be accurate is that right ?

Looking at the work of http://www.nicolasdhervillers.com/.Particularly the sentimental archives series of images. Any idea how he gets the look ? The pictures are almost like paintings. Obviously he cuts the people out from other images, but the actual look of the photographs are incredible

I have been shooting pinhole film camera for quite a few years (an slr with a pinhole cap), but have decided to go digital due to development and film costs. I want something I can take pretty much everywhere. I have been looking at the Pentax Q ? Does anyone see any difficulties with this i.e. the size of the sensor. Also I tend to use 3200 film, as I am shooting freehand, is the Pentax Q likely to be very grainy at that rating ?

I am interested in getting into CGI photography like the stuff this guy does http://www.flylyf.com/thomas-mangold-cgi-photography/ . Can anyone recommend a package that’s good for a beginner in terms of ease of use. I know you can use photoshop, but from what I understand it’s quite limited for CGI photography.

I have a canon 500d. The widest lens I have is the Kit on 18-55mm. I am considering investing in a wide angle lens, as I am likely to be taking more photos like this in the future. Would a wider lens help me with this ?

I want to take a picture that exaggerate size of a statue in front of a house, while still having a full picture of the house in the background. I would like to understand what technique I should use, Should i use a wide lens and get as close as possible, while still keeping the house in the picture? Or can you recommend another method ?

Am looking at buying a pinhole lens for my Canon 500d SLR. I have seen the Holga pinhole lens, but am wondering if this will let dust into my sensor. Is this the case ? If so can anyone recommend a pinhole lens that won’t let dust in ?

I was looking at Alan Jaras rather amazing reflectographs. One thing have read, is that he uses an SLR without a lens, to capture these amazing pictures. I was always under the impression that taking a picture without a lens resulted in blank photographs or pitch black ones. Has anyone shot any lenless photography like the above and what was the result?

I tried to remember the name of a square format B&W photographer who did a series of images, of a woman in the center of the frame but in different locations. He's a fairly old photographer and was in the Guardian Saturday supplement in the last 12 months.

I trying to remember the name of a long exposure photographer who takes photographs of places that are very busy at peak time, but due to the length of the exposure the resulting photo depecits them as empty. I seem to remember one photograph was of a motorway (perhaps M6 or M25) , another was on an escalator at a busy station. But I can’t for the life of me remember his name.

Uniform look across all of the B&W images
in Beginner Questions
Posted

Hi I trying to get a more uniform look across all of the B&W images that I have taken over the years. Many of them have been on film (some with different film and scanned at different labs) others on digital, some on. The JPEG attached is the sort of standard look I want to match.
I have tried using the match colour, but the results were not pleasing. I have also tried reducing the contrast but again haven’t got anywhere near what I want.
