    How not to do it

          3

Not sure if this should be in the sport category although fishing is a

sport, but probably not the way she did it. The dark spots on the dock

is where the fish flopped when the hook came out when she was

landing him. If only I had the movie camera. Thank you for looking.

There is just something about roses in September. They seem to

take on new life and it is bitter-sweet to know that they will soon be

gone. Any comments and/or ratings are appreciated.

The day was overcast and this rose's color made me go for the

camera. I experimented with f-stops and f-10 gave this results. Let

me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

Thank you for showing me the adjustments. I did try the lightening and sharpening but feel too much "natural" look is lost that way. This might just be a good start to some digital alterations that will be more artistic than a photo. It was nice of you to answer my call for help and for giving me an example. Take care, Deanna
  1. It really was good, fresh Wisconsin cheese and veggies right out of the garden, and wine had to go with the cheese. We were in a hurry to get out on the lake and this was a quick lunch which tasted so good outdoors beside a beautiful lake. thanks for commenting. Take care, Deanna

Wish I knew the chicken story. We were going through a chain of lakes in a boat and after passing many huge and beautiful homes on this lake we came upon this scene, so completely out of place for the neighborhood. The straight sitting chair on the crooked dock adds a bit too. Has to be a good story there. Take care, Deanna

Thank you for your help with this. I have learned that a picture taken in bright sunlight at an angle that turns water a shade of gray should probably be discarded. Just didn't want to give up the challenge. The gray water was my biggest problem so in verssion 3 I used some vignetting to calm the color. You were a great help and I appreciate your time and experience. Take care, Deanna

Help! This was taken from a boat in the brightest sunlight and

needless to say I am having a big challenge processing it. So far I

have made tonal changes, brightness and contrast, and exposure

adjustments but it still all blends in together. Any suggestions will be

    greatly appreciated.
