Some comments have been made about RAW conversion by LR2 compared to DPP. How does the RAW conversion of CS4 compare to DPP? Thanks again.

I see the PS has a few versions. Is CS4 the latest? I'll probably get LR2 and PS and I'm sure the books that have been suggested will be a good start. Thanks to all

Hi Pete, what options in Lightroom that you use for fine tuning, after DPP?

Hi guys, I would like to learn more about postprocessing and would like to find out if there are any good references or books out there on the subject? Which softwares will I need? What are the applications for some of the more popular softwares like Lightroom and PS CS? I have the Canon Digital Photo Professional and was wondering how good this software is compared to Lightroom or PS? Thanks for your inputs!

Ed, could you explain this a little: You can test for vignetting by stopping down (DOF preview) and seeing if or when the tip of your finger appears inside the edge of the filter in the corner of the frame. Thanks

The 16-35 has a 82mm thread. At 16mm focal length, you're right that there is a risk of vignetting even when a slim filter is used as mentioned here http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/B+W-77mm-MRC-Slim-Circular-Polarizer-Filter-Review.aspx

I'm not sure how slim the B+W adapter rings are, and if they're any vignetting issues at low focal lengths esp for the 16-35mm wide angle? Will I need to remove my clear protective filter? I'll have to remove the hood in any case as it is not easy to adjust the polarizer with the hood on.

Hi, I'm new here and would like to get some advise. I have three Canon lenses, i.e. 24-105mm f/4L, 50mm f/1.2L, and a 16-35 f/2.8L. I am planning to get a 82mm B+W circular polarizer slim and two adapter rings (82-77, 82-72) so that I can share the filter among all the three lenses. I'm also planning to get other types of 82mm filters and use the same adapter rings.
I would like to get some inputs whether this is a good idea and what are the pros and cons. Has anyone tried doing this and did you face any issues? Thanks!
