Go Ahead, Make Our Day 2

We came across this Cape Buffalo herd in the a winterthorn grove in the Zambian bush. The light was gorgeous and the I was lucky enough to capture this shot with so many of the buffalo lined up and staring us down. Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how to improve this image.

Well done! Great job with the exposure and light balance. Best Regards, Peter
  4. All around this is a nice photo, I like the light and the treatment and the pose is a pleasing "S" shape. The one suggestion that I would like to make is to change the head position. One of the most important aspects of a portrait is the face, and a very important aspect of the face is to get a nice jawline. Here the jawline disappears into the neck. Raising the head so it is more vertical would create more jawline and additionally would ease the tension on the neck muscles making them less prominent and more feminine in my opinion. Overall great work! Best Regards, Peter

Christoph, Thanks very much for the feedback. I like your cropping suggestion, I just checked and it would also allow me to put the trailing bull's head and the leading calf's head on the vertical lines of the rule of thirds. I will also play with a darker version. Thanks, Peter

    Cape Buffalo On The Move

This is a shot of Cape Buffalo running in the Zambian bush. What appears to be pencil strokes was accomplished entirely in camera due to the slow shutter speed, it was not done in post production. The only processing is the b&w treatment. I am not totally happy with this yet and would like to hear thoughts on improvement. Thanks.

I agree with Ricardo, great concept and good execution but the flowers not being in focus is a bit of a problem. If you could shoot this again and get the flowers sharp it would be a great image. Best Regards, Peter

Would like to hear your thoughts. When viewing this on my monitor there is more separation than seen here, maybe the result of compression?
