I like this a lot. The nagging OCD thing in me that wants to see everything perfect would want to have the single dead piece removed before the image was captured. Your flowers are, to me, what is perfect in life. Beauty without compromise. -

Thank you my friends! It was worth braving 45 degree weather and 40-50 mph winds to be there. Tony, the volcanic glow was amplified by the merger of the 12 photos. -
This is a 12 shot panorama from last weeks night visit to Haleakala on Maui, Hawaii. Haleakala is a 10,000 + foot mountain that affords a clear view of the night skies. The Magnetic Peak’s trapezoid shape is clearly outlined in the foreground at left while the 13,000 foot peaks of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii across the open channel are poking through the clouds in the distance. The warm red glow at cloud level to right of center is Kilauea Volcano, active and active.

This is Kalahaku overlook near the top of Haleakala National Park, looking into Haleakala Crater. The supermoon has just risen over the clouds, brightening them. The presence of the Milky Way was a big bonus. Look closely and you can see the 13,000 foot mountains Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. -
