Nice tones. Interesting subject. Photo slightly soft.

Horizon is not level. Lacking contrast and pop to the photo. Somewhat underexposed due to highly reflective sand in the picture. You can fix most of these mistakes in Photoshop or Paintshop Pro.

Many people know me and my work as being primarily about color. Big,
bold, vibrant color. If you see the rest of this "Digital
Renaissance" portfolio, you can make that out. However, I am slowly
starting experimentation with B&W and would like to know what you
guys think of this photo. I know it is nothing great or
inspirational, but I am working on learning and seeing in B&W.
Comments and criticisms appreciated.
Thanks,
Pradeep

I believe this is a strong image mainly because of the balance of the
composition and how this forces the viewer to reconcile with the
golden peacock staring them down. The downward leading lines on the
left and right emphasize this. What do you think? Thank you.

But there are so many lies in this picture. 8O)

What lens did you use to take this picture?

A little background story would make this photograph stand out more and add interest. Good work.

Impressive photo. Color, saturation, tonality, and composition are very good.

Please be more mindful of your comments next time. There is no need to offend a person's religous views to make your point. Thanks.

Is this an vertical panorama? I don't how otherwise you would have gotten such a wide angle shot on a G2 with all the details preserved. Thanks.

Very nice photograph. Since you wanted to emphasize the central portion (by crop choice), did you try to darken the surrounding portions to add emphasis?

You do more with your simple A300 than some of the geeks and blabbermouths on these forums do with their $8000 worth of gear. Excellent work. You have a great eye for B&W and tonalities. May you always be more creative than the equipment you use! Carry on.

Each individual photo is very good. Interesting layout. Good work.

You would never believe that I took this photo inside of a bathroom
at an expensive house we were touring. For all intents and purposes,
it looks like I took it on a trip to Rome. In any case, what do you
guys think about the background. Should I have darkened the
background and whitened the image, or is the greenish cast from the
plaster okay? B&W maybe?

This was taken when I first got a digital camera. I know I should
have changed the white balance to tungsten. Probably also needed to
have the image cropped better to capitalize on the line the shoulders
of the shirts create. Maybe remove the wrinkled shirt as well.
Overall, what other thoughts do you guys have?

I posted my response to getting Turked by pointing to his website for readers to see the marvelous works of the Turkster. I was neither impressed with his soliloquy or his photographic work. But I couldn't find the heart to insult him.

Thank you Thomas Turk for those interesting comments. Everyone should check out his website and photo gallery at:

Very nice photograph. Composition is focused and clean. Colors, tone, and mood are well established. Possibly could have darkened the sky a bit more for mood, since white hotspot is distracting. Rays of light add to the photo.
Good work.

Beautiful and elegant.

Stephen, click on the DETAILS tab and you will see the setting and exposure details on all of my photographs. Yes, I would love to see your photo of the Cicada. Post it on your own account on photo.net and put it up for critique. Thanks.
