Wednesday pict tread is what have made me go out and challenge myself to improve my skills week after week. Honestly, I still have a LONG way to go but I feel supported and I know I can count on other member (or visitor) go get a honest respond to my questions or pictures... and it doesn't matter if it's from the Nikon or Canon guys.

Hi John, Thanks for your input... and your photo is quite spooky.

Thanks Eric, It's getting clear now. My next step is to experiment.
Thanks again to all.

Thanks for your respond. Impact on diffraction is what I was told if I close to much. The picture I posted was taken with a D300s at ISO 200, f3.2 1/3sec on a tripod.

I wonder, in night photography, is it better to have a large aperture and a faster speed or a small aperture and a slower shutter speed? (all other thing being equal).

I bought this lens recently and I've seen on the Sigma site that it is already discontinued. Did i missed a news lately?

I notice this man waiting for something that I did not figure out. There was squirrels and woodpecker all over the place. I waited to see him take a photo but it didn't come. Maybe he was getting ready for the eclipse!!!
There are always very good pictures here so if I have to pick only one, I'm impress by Mikhail's photo.

I started 2 years ago with Element5 and now Element 7 all the way until I discover LR3. Now I used it most of the time (90%). It is very powerful in fine tuning your picture.Even if I don't use Element that much, I plan to buy Element 9 for the layer mask. I could buy a plug-in but I prefer E9 since there is new features.

Something similar happened to me, only once with my D300s. The picture was all black on the JPEG but you could see a kind of picture from the raw file after a lot post processing.
Since it happened only once, I taught it was my manipulation, until I read you post.

I'm sorry if I confused a few of you guys... My mistake, at this time, there is no OS on the 50-150mm from Sigma. The version II I was referring to has the M/AF switch witch I taught it was the OS control.
I own that lenses (the old one) and find it excellent for my needs (and my budget).

Shun, I think that, as you said, the 50-150 is discontinued. It made place for the II version. I've been fooled by a vendor. I just bought the non OS version. It's very good but I would have preferred the OS version.
