The better-suited of the two is then the 70-200mm

I would take the G2 kit if I was you, but that's because I can't bear to be taken seriously

Nothing. It must be interesting from the start, otherwise it's not a photograph, it's something you cooked up in photoshop.

I believe colour should be used when colour near enough is the subject itself, like a sunset. Also, photos which are about modern times or have a similar theme shown should be in colour, because people generally see black and white as being from the past. And the rest(with exceptions of course) works better in black and white. Plus I find that black and white is more forgiving for skin, as there are no big red rashes or spots or that sort of thing.

The solution is to sell everything you don't use for taking pictures, and spend the money on film, photography trips, and getting your best pictures enlarged so that you can show off. Easier said than done though.

I'd say taking, I seem to enjoy it the most

My D40 sensor has dust on it which I just can't get off. There is no self cleaner on it and I'm afraid it's just me with a cloth(Yes I know I really, really shouldn't)

OCD is such a vague and all-encompassing term that everyone has it to a certain degree

I'd love to post pictures but they took my camera off me and made leave it in the cloakroom, so I'm afraid I've no shots of the Jewish Museum.

Not all of us are old here Jim, I'm not even 20 and I adore film. In fact, I came upon this thread while researching 35mm SLRs to buy.. don't suppose you could lend one to me for a few months by any chance? Sorry to be scabby but I'm pretty broke :(

I tend to work in full manual mode, usually using a camera which doesn't have any automation anyway. I also use a hand held spot meter

Have a look around, see what all the other photographers are doing. Go where they don't. That way you'll get something new. Maybe contrast Rondo's passionate couples with the "wheelchair brigade"?

You might try the classifieds

I'd like a Leica M3, a 50mm lense, 500 rolls of HP5, a fully equipped darkroom, and all the time in the world

I like the look of poorly scanned film, although it is an acquired taste and I'll admit that it only works in certain instances

That picture was in a word; boring.

Just put on some socks, toasty toes now :)

Would I? Is this piece of string long enough? Buy used if there's a big enough difference in price, and even then only with a warranty.

Either buy a Leica, turn off all the annoying features on your digital, or continue indulging your fantasies

and Miroslav Tichy

I've yet to leave the house today, I'll update you all later :)

No it's in Germany. Says up there. Berlin to be precise.

I was at the museum a few days ago, and just wanted to let anyone who had any interest in architecture(never mind Jewish history) know that it is definitely worth a look. And in other news, my guide spoke the best english of any foreigner I have heard in my whole life.
