    Trestle

          1

This trestle is in Green county Indiana. It is quite a sight to see due to its

length. Trains still travel across it on a daily basis. Thanks for looking and

    feel free to comment.

  1. Actually, I find the composition very pleasing. Nice colors and great focus. I notice that you are having a similar problem that I am having when shooting birds. There is not enough detail in the feathers. I read an article that discusses focal length and shutter speed. You take your focal length and place it under one. Example: 300mm = 1/300 shutter speed. Ideally your shutter speed should not be any slower than 1/300 sec. There are trade offs though, I see you shot at 1600 ISO. This gave you a shutter speed of 1/90 sec. with an F/5.6. I am impressed with the lack of noise in the photo and I am sure that it may be a problem to increase the ISO any more. But, still you have a beautiful photo that you must be proud of.

    Happy shooting,

Great focus on the eyes! The light is good on the face, I don't see any shadows under the eyes. The area below her neck though, I find distracting. The highlights appear to be clipped and all detail has been lost. If you could dodge this area it would be less distracting and maybe some detail will be revealed.

Very nice pose and the composition is strong. Keep up the good work.

    Best wishes,

  2. Nice original composition. That is one thing I have always read, when you photograph your subject, bring a perspective that is unique. This is important with a popular icon such as this arch. You have been successful.

    Tracy

  3. Really nice image with great detail and sharp focus. The colors are brilliant and the reflection in the water is a good bonus. As far as composition, I would either like to see the subject cropped in closer or using the rule of thirds and remove the subject from the center.

Great capture with a 200mm lens, I know how hard it is to get this close without the bird flying off!

    Best wishes,

    Tracy

  4. Jim,

Lovely landscape! The composition is strong and the colors are very pleasing. The one thing I did notice is a slight halo on the top left of the barn's roof. If you applied sharpening, you might go back and reduce the radius a little and be able to remove the halo. I love barn pictures and yours is a keeper!

    Best regards,

    Tracy

    Gray kitty

Gray kitty is my good friends barnyard cat. She always seems to come up

to me when I visit, but when I try to pet her she shows her displeasure by

sassing me with a hiss. I was sitting on the back patio with her staring up

at me when I captured this. Your comments are welcome.

  5. I really like the perspective and the sky adds to the drama. My only critique is with the choice of frame. I feel the gold  color detracts from your beautiful photo.  When I look at the image, I feel my eye being drawn away from your subject.

    Best wishes,

    Tracy

  6. Very nice photo. I like the boat in the foreground, it makes the picture interesting. Good capture on the colors, the blues in the sky are very pleasing and the green of the boat pops! You have lost a little detail in the highlights though.

Nice macro! Good focus on the eyes and great DOF. The composition is right on. Overall, very nice image.

    All the best,

Great composition and colors. Some of the flower petals are a little bright and possibly clipped. Try a little dodging and bring out the detail and rich color of those petals. Over all, very pleasing image.

    Best regards,

    Tracy
