This is an excellent view, very other worldly. Makes me a little weak in the knees actually. Looks pretty steep and vertigo runs in my family.

Bond material? Comments appreciated.

This is beautiful on so many levels. It is great that you are starting so young to make these exquisite expressions in photography. I am sure you are very mature for your age, because of what you have been through and how much you appreciate life. But to have the passion early is a very good thing.
Thank you for rating my Bond photo. I realized that I posted the wrong size and will have it back up soon. I am glad you liked it. I just wanted to let you know why it disappeared, especially because I like your portfolio so much.

She is one dedicated cook...and beautiful light.

What a great eye you have for human interest. These unusual pieces of art seem to be connecting this lonely old man with some memories. And the young couple in the background make it even more touching. The work in you portfolio is very conceptual as well. Definitely exhibition quality.

I never answered your question. I appreciate your comment and this was shot for stock, while I was in Jamaica on assignment for a hotel with the models. They were taking a break and signed releases for my personal shots.

So much atmosphere with expert lighting and design. You have a great eye for tones and timing. Cheers, Leora

This could be a frame from a dramatic scene in a movie. The birds have taken flight and something occurs that will change the world. Nice angle and design. I love the lighting and tint. Could not resist when I saw the thumbnail.

Thank you for your lovely, lovely comment. I have since done more versions, but I will remember how much you like this one. :)

This tells a story. These guys seem stripped of attitude and in their own world. There is a sadness and a sort of resignation. They look healthy, but maybe they have a secret. The older man seems very protective of the younger.
I Iove the tones. It's very 3-dimensional.
Well done, Leora

I love this portrait. If I understand it right, you have scanned it from a rag print. It looks soooo real. Probably the best scan I have ever seen.
The lighting, beautiful skin tone, wind blown hair, earrings --- all are perfect. Frankly, I did not even notice the can and lines in the background, which are nicely soft focus. I see her and the over all design -- the shape of her shoulders against the area of light sand surrounding her and the horizontal ban of foliage with the well-toned band of sky.
The idea of reportage is that it be should be unretouched and I agree with you about keeping the integrity with the original negative. I heard that Henri Cartier Bresson did not want to have his photos cropped. Whatever was in the negative, that WAS the photo.

Excellent portrait, Meir. Do your subjects ever ask for a print? My grandfather had a photo shop on Martha's Vineyard, a summer resort. He would go on the beach and photograph the tourists. The next day the prints he had made the evening before would be in the window of his shop and people could come in and buy them. Now people ask me to send them photos on the internet.

Are you using a tripod? Excellent shot.

This is great! Beautiful detail and I love her smile.
PS I also like the way you keep changing your profile photo, especially this one with the two ladies who have joined you (August 14).

I appreciate your comparison. And if you would like to see my new blog, go to http://leoraphotographic.blogspot.com. I am pulling together some more things for the next entry and working on a slide show. Feel free to leave a comment on the blog at the bottom. I feel it can go in any direction at this point and the more feedback the better.

Thank you for your generous remarks and praise. It is great to hear from you. You have a style worth watching. All the best, Leora

Great accessories and very compelling style of portrait. I can see a book of these as you travel around Norway.
Good luck, Leora

I see a child of many moods...lost in thought. Cooking up mischief or thinking about someone she cares about. An angelic face with distinct womanly tendencies.

Reminds me of Martha Graham with Noguchi as designer.
Well done white on white.

Fun image. You got GREAT expressions on these lads.
A third mate is partly hidden. Did you get all three, by chance. I hate it when I miss an opportunity. If I have business cards with me I can sometimes get people to stop and do more shots. They are more than willing usually.
