2.
Bryce Canyon 6/14/2016, shot with Canon 50D using 24-105 zoom in late afternoon.

 3.
A mountain goat made a rare mid-day appearance while we were there.

 4.
This formation is known as the Checker Board and is common in the area

 5.
Zion National Park has many beautiful and varied rock formations and is certainly worth a visit. All three of these shots were taken with a Canon 50D using a 24-105 zoom handheld.

 6.
The little line going out the middle of the picture is the Bright Angel Trail, which winds it's way all the way to the river. The point you see is 6 miles into the hike. We didn't get that far.

 7.
The confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers.

 8.
No fireworks in these, but a very grand American scene. We went to the Grand Canyon in early June. The first two were taken out the window of a helicopter. The last was taken while hiking on the Bright Angel Trail.

 9.
Many of the rock formations get names

 10.
Frank Lloyd Wright Chapel

 11.
Sedona, Arizona is famous for it's red rock formations. All shot with Canon 50D using a 24-105 zoom.

 12.
Later the same day, no longer on the Blue Ridge Parkway, taken from Ceasar's Head overlook, temperature back to 60's F.

 13.
It also started to snow while we were up there taking pictures.

 14.
May 5, 2016 we were up on the Blue Ridge Parkway when a weather front moved through. The temperature dropped to 32 degrees F. The clouds settled onto the trees causing ice to form on their branches. Spring got a bit of a set back for a couple hours.

 15.
A few miles down the road an overlook provided a great view of the canyon carved out by Little River

 16.
I would have thought the water was still a bit too cool for swimming, but apparently these boys didn't think so.

 17.
Why is it that the Nikon Wednesdays get more activity than Canon Thursday?
Last week we visited Little River Canyon just south of Ft. Payne, AL, USA. Shots were taken with a Canon 50D using 24-105 zoom.

 18.
We went back to Cloudland Canyon State Park near the hang gliding park in April to see the waterfall, and other scenery of the area.

 19.
The barely visible white dot near the center of the picture is the windsock at the field where they land.

 20.
Back in January I drove over to the Lookout Mountain Flight Park - a hang gliding launch location. Just looking at the downslope of the launch pad is scary.

 21.
Finally, a new Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Unfortunately, this particular car crashed later in the race, and no longer looked nearly as nice as it does here.

 22.
Next up was probably the fastest car on the track for the weekend, a GT3RS from the Flying Lizard team

 23.
The first weekend in April Peachstate PCA held it's annual club races. In addition, Porche Club of America held it's inaugural Cayman GT4 Clubsport race. It was a fun weekend, and there were lots of terrific looking race cars, old and new, to be seen.

 24.
Same setup second group of three

 25.
No special portrait equipment available, so a couple of lamps, and flash for fill, taken with a wall as background. It would have been nice to have a screen of some kind for more uniformity, and more lighting. Results show a bit of shadow that could probably be taken out with post processing. I found out just how hard it is to get three young girls to be still even when they are your granddaughters.
