Thank you, Mary! It was a real treat to see and hear him perform live. I hope my photos do him justice! I appreciate your kind critique, and glad also that it led me to see your portfolio and web site. Very nice work!

Hi, Fred, and thank you for the comments! I will definitely play around with the eye in post-processing a bit, as I agree it is a bit obscured. As usual, I appreciate the time, attention, and thought you give in your VERY helpful analysis... Much obliged, and kindest regards!

Thanks for your comments, Andrew! Yes it was telephoto, and no he did not know (to my knowledge) that I was shooting his pic. This was an unposed street shot. The man had a rather unusual carriage and striking facial features, and I felt that a posed scenario would cause some of that uniqueness to be lost. Likewise, I debated cloning out the lint on his sweater, but decided against it because it seemed to also be a natural part of his personality. Of course if I decide to ever make money with portraiture, my approach would be radically different!

Thanks all for your kind words! I find even the stationary stuff at air shows can provide some really neat subjects, and it's kind of fun looking for them!
