In this version, Alf, (and sorry for commenting in reverse chronological order) I like the complex dialogue between the fanning structures: one in the skies, one in the sand and in between the wooden columns.

Interesting image, the capture of the sand is skillful. The kissing shapes that are aligned with the sun work well. What is the origin of the title?

Beautiful result, fine layered image, has depth to it. I also like the toning, it goes well with the mood of the shot.

A bit kitschy...
Thanks for looking.

Thank you all for the kind comments.
Laurent, the problem with stopping to take a decent picture in this case was a hungry family that knew that dinner is at the end of the road :)

Fine macro shot!

I have to confess I do prefer warmer tones and I do warm up pictures on purpose. I am aware that this might not be everyone's preference.
As for the rating, well it has it's ups and downs. I read somewhere that if a picture is not attacked, it is not good enough. But far from me to think this is the way things always work. The low rating could be for blown out water or for sharpness not enough for shaving one's bristle with it. Or for the tree being in the middle and no rule of thirds.
I do permit rating because I understand that others might also be as short on time as I am and rarely have the minutes to write comments. And I will keep shooting and enjoying it regardless of the rating.

Thanks, Jim. Plitvice it is. Maybe the crop above works better in terms of removing the clutter...

Nice work from you as usual. Regards, Tibi

Shot from the car (not by the driver of course).
Thanks for looking.

I agree that the featureless skies could have been left out. As for moving the branch, well, one is not supposed to leave the wooden track that I show you above.
Radu,
You are absolutely right, the visit to this wonderful place was something to remember, even if the pictures I took are not much more than vacation shots.

Thanks Ruud

Compassionate portrait.

Nice shot, Amitai. Nice to see there are still places where they do not throw everything away after a mere couple of month!

Very pleasant image.

Beautiful colors and very good use of the wide angle lens.
