  1. Nice work with the 645. Looks like you can add it, along with the Canon A's, to the list of "no metering problems".
  2. Looks like you're on the right track. The Central Emphasis Metering pattern in my AE-1P and A-1 have never let me down for 39 years. Just be mindful that metering vertical will give you a slightly different reading with all 'A' models. But Dana, the MOST important thing to remember is that your A-1 is Hexaphotocybernetic. (or so says Canon).
  3. When did the OP ever mention 3 gallon tanks in his three postings? From every published data sheet in the universe for Tri-X and D76.
  4. It appears that Alex might be taking a bit of a rest, so I'll start this months PotM. Post all the photos you want that were taken with any Canon FD or FL cameras or lenses. A-1 with FDn 35/2.0, film Kodak gold 200. Depew, Oklahoma 01/2023
  5. What a great 'chrome to have of your father Mike. Busy at work and happy about it !
  6. The film looks like it does the job. Nice work with the little XA2.
  7. Ooops! I read the first prize but my brain somehow didn't make the coupling.
  8. But still... it's a random post in a forum where it doesn't belong. The OP correctly placed his topic here, which is one of now two Film, Medium Format forums.
  9. Which September did that take place John? (I'm hoping there's still time!)
  10. Ah yes, a snow rocket ship for their 'Space Travelers Club' exhibit.
  11. Nice grouping Rick. Looks like someone scribed a couple of lines for your 6x6 negs.
  12. Thanks, I checked all that at the beginning. The camera takes 120.
  13. Both. Either way there is the same heavy resistance to winding. The film path is clear regardless of bellows position.
  14. Beats me. I'm just the messenger. You'll have to contact Kodak for that information. https://web.archive.org/web/20210305050619/https://imaging.kodakalaris.com/photographers-photo-printing/resources/chem-tech-info (wait for loading)
  15. It was fixed two years ago. Update 1/4/2021: KODAK PROFESSIONAL DEKTOL Developer / Packet to make 1 gal (CAT# 516 0270) This problem has been resolved. in 2020 batches of DEKTOL with date codes of August 2019 or later have been coming out darker than normal when mixed. This problem has been resolved. This is due to a non-photo active impurity. This has no impact on product performance. We are working with our manufacturer to quickly bring the color back to its normal neutral appearance.
  16. edit: What I called scratches is actually a 3/8 inch wide band of slight scuffing which contains the few lines. Also there is some polishing on the leading edge of the metal 'bellows box' just in from the roller of the right size, but it also is smooth. The very heavy wind tension is causing the scuff at that point which probably would not exist without the tension problem. Or so I think.
  17. No, that was the first thing I thought of after processing the first and only roll. They both are clean, smooth and feel like velvet when being rolled. No, like I said the camera is in excellent condition and not all that old. Around 1956 or 57 from what I could learn. The interior is clean and free of rust also, only an expected polish spot on the pressure plate. Since 2 empty spools will turn quite freely, I might use some expired 120 film play around with it while open. Thank you both for your comments.
  18. Welcome back to film photography! Photo.net has been revamped recently and I don't know where this subheading, "Medium/Large Format" came from. I would encourage you to post this exact Topic here: https://www.photo.net/forums/forum/8-medium-format/ It has been around a long time and I am sure you will get some responses.
  19. Here is my first folder I bought not to long ago to get into 6x9. Bellows and everything else looks great, but winding the film has a heavy drag and leaves about 5 parallel scratches in the film. I see nothing in the film path. Oh well, so it goes. A failure for starting a new forum.
  20. I've used The Darkroom for C-41 several times. Process, scans, and prints for a total of $20.00 per 36 exposure roll. Very reasonable! and excellent quality too. Plus they still use wet-process Fuji paper. Here is what they have on their site for just printing your uploaded digital files: "Just upload your digital images and select your size. Color Prints from .35¢ each ~ Silver Gelatin B&W Prints from $1.99 each Color files are printed on traditional wet-process FujiFilm Supreme silver halide color paper. B&W digital files are printed on genuine ILFORD Black and White Silver Gelatin Photographic Paper which gives you a true B&W image and not just a black and white image on color paper." Besides the quality, they are fast and a pleasure to deal with.
