    Thank you.

Mark; this photo was not retouched it is right out of the camera. The lighting was not adjustable by me for these photographs; it was preset..Bummer. I know have my own studio in my home and will be doing my work there mostly due to the set up problems. As far as the hand goes, That is a great comment also, I had not thought of that; I will remember it.

    Note:

Mandy here was a Playboy Centerfold and is host of the Playboy Channel Nightime Show on PayPer View TV.

Quite beautiful and a very pleasant girl.

"Cinnamon" molested at age 4 then at 7. A pimp took her at age 11.

Lived with a pimp age 13 to 15. Had a baby by him at 13, lost it. Not

been to school since age 11. Crack Addict, prostitute. Now age 19. A

beautifh girl. Such a waste. She cuts, She cries. She was shot in the

back by an upset trick. OH yesss... All in America.... And, yet I could

not find a place for her to take her to help her??? She stands inside a

window and prays that one day someone will help her before she dies.

Thank you Lex and Rajat. Yes. I like this one also. I do like the series. Drug addiction and abuse is so strong that it just completly consumes the children. I will be showing some of these and my street works in a show this fall. I can only hope they affect no less than one person.

  1. Thank you for your response. Rajat: the photo was taken in a studio. The light is all from strobes, no natural light. It is old Hollywood Style Lighting. the lighting is adjusted to affect the photograph in the manner it did. It is remarkable and very nice. I do like it myself also.

Although I do slip back to the streets when I can I am trying to learn as much as I can about studio and lighting. Working in the studio is much safer for me and quite interesting.

  2. Thank you for your comment Jim. I do appreciate them all.

I have been photographing on the streets and in the more troubled areas for 3 years. I have written 2 published books on life in these areas. I have seen more than what i want to see and experienced more than what I wished to. ..

I photograph life as it is, telling a story as it is. My work as a photographer is to photograph and tell a story through photographs (photojournalism). It is the impact of the photograph that matters. If a photograph impacts you good or bad then that photograph is good. If you look at a photograph and feel nothing, it does nothing for you then it did not serve its purpose. If you can look at this series of photographs and feel nothing, I did not do my job. If you look at them and they make you ill, angry, or disgust you or cause you to feel empathy then they served their purpose.

  3. Thank you for the critique. These were my first attempt at studio photography and with using a model. You input is appreciated.

The lighting was, to me, very poor. I was not allowed to change the lighting in any way. I did what I could with it utilizing my camera. I think with her anyway, I would have preferred a dark background.

    Jim
