1. Df has excellent noise performance, and it's well built, and light, which is the best of both worlds I think.
 2. Yeah BeBu, I was the same way a few years ago but with age I kind of like lighter. I have a D810 right now which weighs like a brick, although I like it overall. How have you been old friend?
 3. Has anyone mentioned that the metal top, and back plate of the D7200 has disappeared. I think the D7500 is now a carbon fiber body, which may be better, or not. I'm curious about that because lighter is also nice if durability isn't being sacrificed.
 4. I had a Nikon D7200 for a couple of years, and found it excellent with great dynamic range.
 5.
I'm a Nikon shooter but I've been very impressed with the new Canon 5DMKIV judging by the many sites I've been checking. The dynamic range is up considerably from previous models, and it's noise performance is better than almost anything else I've seen including Nikon's D750. Here's my question, is there any noise reduction added to the MK4's raw images out of camera? I ask only because it seems fantastically good.

 6. I rarely comment on images here, but for this I make an exception. It is perfect.
 7.
What happened to the new site from the other day? I think I like this one better, but maybe it's just because I'm more familiar with it?

 8.
It has a ne sensor so I wonder if they improved the dynamic range some.

 9.
If you're anything like me no matter the choice sooner, or later you'll conclude it should have been the other.

 10.
I'm definitely getting one of these, because I love the old style of controls, and never fully got comfortable with modern dslr design. The colors from these XT cameras are just beautiful as well.

 14.
Ansel Adams is the template of what a Landscape photographer is. He was a character, he invented things like the zone system, he is the most copied, he wrote a lot, and lived a long time. Almost every Landscape photographer is just repeating what Adams already did, but in color, with slight variations.

 15.
I haven't seen any other camera company that can get out of a sensor what Nikon does regardless of the sensor maker. Toshiba, and Sony both make sensors for Nikon, and yet Nikon gets better dynamic range, and noise out of the sensors then the makers of the sensors do typically. You've made excellent points about the legacy glass, but not everyone is in that boat, and I still find cleaning the Sony sensor nerve racking with ibis, being that it must be very delicate, and jiggles around.
In any event I don't see Nikon having any insurmountable issues to overcome if they want to make a competitive mirror-less. I hope they're in the process, because I'm afraid that any company that isn't is toast in the not to distant future.

 16.
Well I see what you're saying, but I guess it depends on what you hold to be important. For example, I couldn't care less about in body stabilization. To me it's just something that makes cleaning the sensor a stressful exercise in not damaging the camera. You can get all that in the lens. Most of the features that many are infatuated with do nothing for me. What I like most is what Nikon does with it's Sony sensors, and I can't imagine I'm alone, maybe in a minority, but not alone.

 17.
What's better is different for everybody, but I don't see any reason the preeminent camera maker in the world wouldn't be able to make a competitive mirror-less. The reason I like Nikon is primarily for IQ, so couldn't they bring those chops to their mirror-less.

 23.
One thing I would think makes Mirror-less ultimately attractive to Nikon is just that the manufacturing of the cameras would be simplified with no mirror mechanism. When you think about it in historical terms the DSLR starts to look like a bit of a Rube Goldberg machine. Although it's a beautiful dinosaur the DSLR is still a Dinosaur in the long run.

 24.
Well what I read, and I don't remember where it was, but that the two new cameras were confirmed, and would likely show up at Photokina this year. The lenses are suppose to be completely new, and if I remember correctly older dslr lenses would not be compatible. In other words a whole new line of lenses, with two competing types of cameras within Nikon. Isn't that more or less what Sony is doing. In any event don't hold your breath because I'm not sure how reliable the info is, but I just remember thinking it sounded pretty credible when I read it.
