  1. Luis, Initially, this scene looked simple and serene. But by cropping the sweeper to the lower edge of the long  road, it created a visual tension and implied that she had her work cut out for her. While the composition diminishes the woman, compared to the daunting road ahead, it also illuminates her silhouetted task.  The sweeper's focus on her work is riveting, and holds my focus, leaving the road ahead to the shadows. Powerful use of cropping and composition. Jane

Robv, The long shadow from the lamp draws in my eye. But I can't erase the thought that the broken stucco and "16" sign look like a skull. Intriguing image, and vertical format adds visual strength.  Jane

  2. Marv, I'm drawn to this image. Today I'm noticing how the shadowed streetview is balanced by a much smaller window of bright sunlight above -the sunny red wall and blue-bird sky. The combination of many strong geometric shapes is visually interesting. Thank you for posting this. Jane

This is looking up at the downside, very positive

Marc, Thanks for your "positive" comment. That's probably how I felt behind the viewfinder, topsy-turvy bathed in pink sunlight. Jane

Jane...Choice airstrip shot really enhanced by your inclusion of runway markings sprinkled with that white stuff! Salutations-Laurent

Laurent, Thank you very much. I was lucky enough to have walked through that same jet on a tour, then we were bused out to watch it takeoff. Couldn't believe my luck! Best, Jane
