Looks like it was shot at 1/100s, f/5.6, ISO 6400. A faster lens would have helped you use a lower ISO. And would also have helped with the auto focus (in low light).

Nikon D7200 is virtually ISO-less. That means it does not matter much what ISO you shoot, lifting exposure in post yields the same results as raising ISO.

Huh? Could you elaborate on that?

As a non-pro, I think you should offer them 25% back. That would be the right thing to do and a great PR move. You could mention that legally and contractually, you only owe them $18 but you are doing it out of empathy for them.

The site's loading really slow for me right now, not sure if anyone else experienced that.

[edit] - Looks like it's hosted in Europe, so that may be a factor.

At cropped level, the D500 looks best, followed by the D750, followed by the 300S. Thanks for the post - this sort of stuff is always good to see.

Eventually the wedding photography business could be narrowed down to wives of doctors and attorneys who do it not for the money but for fun :-)

Why do photographers give people low res images? I understand not giving RAW files. But surely giving them a JPG at 100% resolution makes sense? Or is the noise more visible at that size so they have to resize to make the image look better?

Does anyone know if these DL cameras are selling well? I can't see the pros, semi-pros, or serious hobbyists buying them, and the amateurs will just use their phone cameras. So, who's the target audience here?

The other alternative is the undercut everyone else which will eventually drive you out of business.

You only need to undercut everyone else of the same or higher quality. Basically, be the best value for that price range.

Make sure of these 4 things and you'll get excellent performance.

SSDs, both for the boot drive and for your work drive.

24 GB or more memory

6-core or if you can afford it 8-core i7 CPU

Top of the line video card with 4 GB memory

35mm F/2 Nikon

Nikon has an excellent 35 mm 1.8 AF-S lens for the DX format. So that may be a better fit for the APS-C sensor camera you recommended.

A relevant fact is: F/22 @ 1/100s @ ISO 25600 ≡ F/5.6 @ 1/100s @ ISO 1600, which means that both those shots could have been made at ISO 1600.

Could someone throw more light into this statement? Thanks.
